Studs wouldn’t be better?

Now, to replace each and everyone of them with grade 8 bolts, $9.85 at my local Ace Hardware store. But not tonight, early to rise after a good night's sleep, at my age we must take it a little at a time

grade 8 might be too hard looks like 5 was oe
8 won't streach and might loosen from the vibs

Bring this thread back up because.........yes you said it, my manuals (two of them ) both said 30 lbs, these are 68 and 70 Dodge B Body books, and I leared this today, yes, I should have looked farther I guess, but the drivers side is torked in all 5 after a chase on the threads and got it out with a pick , center passenger side. Flooded it with oil and it started to move with my pick, going to buy ten new bolts and remove the others incase I stressed them , now to find proper bolts..
Thanks for bringing this thread back up, I cant believe that a FSM would make that kind of mistake in torque specs. I just checked my manual that I downloaded from MyMopar and it calls for 210 inch pounds, or 17.5 foot lbs.
@nutz is right though, harder steel isnt always better, and depending on application, some steel is supposed to deal with an accepted amount of stretch, and a harder steel may not always fit the bill. If it was me, Id check before using the grade 8s just in case.
