I tell you what. I have made several transactions like that and I am always happy with the end result. Always, without fail I get a message in the end like, "Thank you for your good business......." or some such. No trouble so far.

I have had minor problems with overseas sellers. However they usually "take threats" very seriously and I'm not afraid to threaten the livin 'ell out of em. "Contact the state attorney general" and other nonsense.
This is a tear down of an illegal counterfeit Canon charger. Notice that it is NOT third party, it is being advertised as "being" Canon.
I told the seller I was giving him 24 hours, and he sent the refund in about 1/2 hour LOL (PayPal)

The square object to the left of the top case half is a WEIGHT that was supposed to "make you think" there was something inside LOL. It had actually broken loose and was rattling around "in there"
