That is with my camera.....

I let the dog out to do his "business" and I look at the property line between me and the good neighbor, and I see this unfamiliar brown area there.... Look a little closer, and it's two deer behind the trees.

So I run inside to get my camera and hope that they do not leave. The freakin' dog starts barking at them just before I get back to the door... I get him in as quickly as I can...

I started shooting from my front porch. Then tried walking closer to see how close I could get....

And look what I saw:

I miss my Mom and Dad's place. We were always seein' somethin up there. Over the years, small bear, moose, elk, racoon, beaver, peacock, pheasant, you name it

When you are on the highway, and you see a deer..forget about that one and start looking for the other one..that one will take your car out...

..amazing....gorgeous creatures..

Thanks, I can't believe how good some of the shots turned out. I need to learn my Cannon and see if it can get better ones.

These shots were from my "pocket Sony" camera.

Those deer let me get pretty close to them. I couldn't believe that they let me get that close. I just moved slowly and didn't make any sudden movements.

They were some good sized does. I don't know if I would try to get so close to a buck with a rack on it. Every now and then we see a 8-12 point buck wandering around. I'm sure that there are a few of them around here. We've had a good summer with rain, and the green plants are growing like crazy - great for the deer to eat. We had a little rain this morning and everything was damp earlier, now it's drying out. The deer seem to like this. O:)

Suzy likes them hanging around her house and eating her shrubs. There are alot of nature lovers around here. You can see some cool animals if you pay attention around here. :D

They say that if you see one, look for more. I usually see them in twos or threes.

There is another forest preserve area around here, I've seen a herd of about 2 dozen at one time hanging around.

I had a deer run right at me and hit my 68 Barracuda daily driver many years back. He hit me... I tried to avoid it, but it kept coming. The head bounced off the front grille and broke the turn signal light, then the shoulder hit the fender above the tire, and the back hit my door and dented it, I found white "tail fur" stuck under the door handle.

Groovy shooting KK.. looks like they are enjoying a clover patch :glasses7:
Thank you for sharing a beuityful day :)

Here is a mom and fawn eating in my front yard. I have anywhere from 1 to 8 out there at a time eating.

That's cool!

We used to feed the coons all the time. Our "record" was 17 at one time.

We even had two albino coons around for a while....

dang, when I read the title I was thinking "yummy" deer jerky, deer burgers, deer bacon.

uh-oh the animal rights people are going to be after me now :jocolor::jocolor:

This all coming from someone who was raised a vegetarian till I moved to Colorado LOL
