No choice. Really needed the cash and no other options. what do you have, and what would you ask.

Being realistic since you would need money.

An exercise in the hypothetical?

I'd have to unload some cars. All the B-bodies minus the Sport Satellite, probably a grand each. The Satellite, I'd have to see a minimum of $5K for. The Barracuda was an early inheritance from Pop so I'd have to be pretty desperate. The F250 is the only thing besides a 41P .22 rifle I have left of my grandad, it would stay. The Hyundai would stay. The trailer wouldn't go for less that what I paid for it considering it might have a 1000 miles on it, plus the wench.

Got a boat load of comics I could part with, but would hate to. I know of someone who might like reading them in the next ten years or so... ;)

Other than that, a bunch of odds and ends. Car parts that I have need to sort through and get back out into the hobby since I don't have a need for 'em for my projects, priced to move.

Sell what I need to but try to hold on to inherited items as they have more value than a dollar amount.

Yes just a hypothetical.

Comics huh. :glasses7:I passed my collection on to my son when he was old enough.
Still has them to pass on to his boys

Other than family treasurers, there is nothing I wouldn't sell if I "had" to have the cash and in certain circumstances they could go too. "Had" being the key word. If it was a family member that was dying and I could save them by selling off stuff then I would.

Run for political office, couldn't possibly do any worse then the idiots we have now. The pay is good the benefits are great, and the retirement programs is unbeatable.

So if elected you would sell your office?

I could sell any or all of it, would really hate to turn lose of my tools,
but all would go if the need was great enough.

I hope to never be in that position, but know
it's always a possibility.
A fire, natural disaster, health or anything beyond my control
could take everything I've worked for in minutes.

I won't answer this because I might find out something about myself that I don't want/need to know....

Don't know how you came to that conclusion, but let's have a little fun with that conclusion, play it out...

As we already know, The country is moving to the Left, Moving away from the Constitutional Republic the founders gave us, toward a Socialist Democracy. I've been fighting that for decades, to no avail. I've worked my *** off for 45 years to get to where I am, now, and the federal government is STILL looking to take more from me, and give to people who haven't done a thing to earn it.

So, what the hell, "If you can't beat them, join them". I'd simply run as a Democrat, and do what is "expected of me".

By being "cooperative" in the winter of my life, I can become VERY profitable, very comfortable, and impacted into the political system, by selling out the constituency for personal gain, power, and profit. Nothng new, just play the game as it's played today.

"Gifts" from labor unions, minority organizations, special interest groups, anti-Christian organizations for the purpose "swaying" your vote to their favor, knowing full well the the main stream media will never hold you accountable for any of it, as a Democrat, might actually help you if someone does blow the whistle on you.

It's a sure bet, Wolfie, it relieves all your financial woos, gives you a purpose in life, take little physical effort, no scruples, and in the end you leave with the best health care 300+ million people can pay for, and a retirement package that is better than any other on the planet, and might only take you 2 years to earn.

Been there about 20 years ago , makes you keep more cash on hand and less debt.

Was not a fun time.

I have replaced anything that I had that I still had an interest in , guns , 1985 Kawasaki eliminator , Rolex etc

I never once thought about selling my 69 dart that I bought in 1981 and still have though

You just described Chuck Schumer.

Already done it....and not hypothetically.

Exactly. Over the last year I sold almost everything that wasn't bolted down in my house. The only things I have left are my Dart, my motorcycle and my Dad's guns. Luckily, my wife found a job before I had to sell those.

dunno... got too much stuff that's worth the world to me but probably worthless to everyone else. Tons of MoParts, more than I probably can even catalog.

Leave it to Frankie to turn this into politics, as if the big, big "I useta have a big Dick Cheney" / Bush was so good for this country. It ain't the Dems FRANK. It's ALL of them. ALL

Framkie, how about becoming an adjunct professor and brain washing the next generation, if your being "cooperative."

Certainly! I could do that, too. Take 19 to 23 years old heads full of much and give them a nice "list to port". Sort of a next generation of Socialists in training. Hell, even high schoolers, you know, teens, while they still know everything. (chortle)

Oh, stop looking for trouble, and get over yourself. I did no such thing, go back and read the thread. I merely suggested that Wolfie take a foray into politics, as it's low physical strain, pays well, has excellent benefits, and a a wonderful retirement program.
It was Wolfie's question that opened the door.
