Anyone out there ever had a problem with the gas and temp. gauges not working? I have replaced the voltage regulator and even replaced the temp. sending unit and still am not getting any readings. I'm just wondering if I either have the diode on the regulator positioned wrong,or is there some type of ground wire/lug that I'm missing. Any thoughts?

Diode on the regulator? It's much more than that. The regulator should have an input, an output, power and ground. Input and power being battery voltage, output being 5vdc and ground being 0 volts. The 5v output goes directly to both gauges then in series through their senders (variable resistors) to ground. Anything not making a good connection will cause your regulator to not work. It's best to test the gauge cluster and regulator on your workbench to verify it's actually working before you install it into the car.

Do a search, this issue has had more coverage than the superbowl.

Ditto. Many, many posts, with photos, everything you need. Insure you have a multimeter before trouble-shooting, or you will be just flying blind.

The regulator has three pins, one is about 12V, one ground, the other about 5V. Reading those helps trouble shoot.
