Is there a list of option codes that don't get stamped on a fender tag?

I'm repro'ing my fender tag (it rusted out) and want it to be as accurate as possible (there is no build sheet). Is there such a thing as a list of codes that DON'T go on a tag? In poking around in this and other forums, it appears that there was no real protocol as to what codes go on the tag. It was said that the rules changed by year, by plant, by day of the week, by model, and by how many drinks the tag person had the night before. In addition, some people say the tag codes have to do with mods to the body itself, but I don't see that rule being correct either. For example, some people say the radio is on the tag, other people say no (I've seen tags both ways). Also, some codes may be part of a group (light group, etc.), but not in the instances of this car...

My '71 Demon is a base car and the codes below I don't think would be on the tag, does anyone concur?

G41DAY/NIGHT REAR VIEW MIRROR
J11GLOVE BOX LOCK
L15ASH RECEIVER LIGHT

W11DELUXE WHEEL COVERS

M85FRONT & REAR BUMPER GUARDS
J15CIGAR LIGHTER
S77POWER STEERING

I'm pretty sure my Demon was a "bank" car (one spit out of the factory just to fill spaces on a dealer's lot), because there's no rhyme/reason to the options it has... I also have a '71 AMC SC360 optioned the same way. I bought the AMC from the original owner and he said the AMC sat on the lot for almost a year. He said he originally wanted to order an AMX but was getting shipped out to Vietnam in two months. So he ended up "settling" for the SC360 on the lot instead...

And before work, and during lunch.
Definitely by year and plant.

Get one of those fancy little decode books, they have a section for fender tags.

Looking through mine, 1969-1971, it definitely doesn't indicate which would be on a tag vs not.
Earlier tags at least have placeholders for various options to end up under.

Where was your car built?

7th VIN letter.

Ya, that's a hell of a good reference for A bodiers..

Don't make a fake tag. You will make a mistake and it will be found out. Just say no.

There are thousands of good fender tag reading folks out there. And there are more who don't know how do make one correctly, including some of the big name people offering the service!

Yes generally it has to do with holes in the body shell. So with headrests or not won't be on there on a 1965-1969 car when they were an option. 1-1-1969 headrests were manditiory. Power steering won't be on there, no changes to the body. But then some plants put tinted glass on there, that has nothing to do with the body of the car. Some don't put radio on there at all, but that does make holes in the body.

If the man wants to put a reproduced tag on his car, ultimately it is up to any future owner to determine if it is legitimate or not.
A tag with a **REPRO** or some other clue may help defend against accusations of fraud.

Don't sweat it, this is a super-base slant six Demon. The repro'd tag will cost more than the value of the car itself. Ain't nobody gonna buy it and think they got ripped off if the tag is not exact. Also, nobody has researched this car as deeply as I have regarding option codes, so any legitimizing would be coming from documents that don't exist.

There's a member here that's making 3d printed fender tags and novelty tags. At a glance they're passable but obviously they're a plastic material so there's no mistaking them for an original.

Shoutout to a member with a great product and service

As for the other reproduction tags out there, I guess I only really see the point if you have an original or partial original to include with the car. Like if you have part of the original that rusted out. Otherwise, just say it doesn't have one, because without an original tag it's pretty unlikely the reproduction one will match what was originally there. Plenty of cars are missing their fender tags at this point, and yeah, it really only matters for the high-zoot matching numbers cars anyway.

Ya, on a high dollar car I wouldn't even buy the car if it had a repro tag, unless there was substantial info to back up the tag (ie: build sheet, inspection report from a reputable Mopar pro, old rusted tag, original window sticker, etc.), but on a slant six base Demon dragged out of a junkyard, believe me, nobody gives a rip.

I'm not having the tag made to increase the car value, or to add options it never had, or to fool the public, or to impress anybody; I'm only having it made to put the car back to (mostly) original, and fully correct condition.

Based on a bunch of slant '71 Demon tags I've been researching, I have 99% of the tag correct as it came from the Hamtranck factory; there are just a few smaller options that I'm working to confirm (in the first post above) before pulling the trigger on a new tag. And even those are pretty much confirmed on or off (I'm thinking they were all off) the tag. The only one that is really confusing is the wheel covers (and accompanying correct wheel color), but that's another thread...
