I asked my buddy to start my Dart and let her warm up. im not around and I dont want her just sitting..

He just texted me and said "The Nova wont start."

The key ring says DART right on it...

GOD DAMMIT, IT AINT A CHEVY!!

and this guy has lived with me for years...
Some folks...

Nextime i see a Ferrari im gonna ask what year is their Pantera...

I would be hes better at paying rent than knowing about cars...
(thank god)

I did a fire job where the guy lost his cars and i can just imagine my buddy saying "I could not get the Nova out, all i saw was a Dodge key chain.."

I still don't get that. A duster looks absolutely nothing like a nova to me. Signal lights. Bumper style. All of it.

Well, that and just about every nova out there now has a shitty cowl hood. I am so glad we have a unique hoods to pick from. So we don't look like every mullet mobile S-10 with a 4 inch cowl hood.

Ha ha, In the cowl hood thread I had to ask what year is that nova?....

JMHO but no cowl hood will ever go on my car... I dont care what data they have to say its beter...
not gonna happen, no sir,.no thank you...

I want my hood scoop pointing forward and above the turblent boundary...

altho MOPAR is the orignal mullet mobile...

yeah, I had a lady ask me the other "is that your charger"
I said, the one with the plates that read 71dustr?

yeah, that's mine

Yup. You'd never find a cowl hood on my car. I'm gunna go fiberglass hemi style when the dollar gets better.

I had a good one at the gas station the other day. Fill up. Washing the windshield. Guy says:
"What yah got in it?"
I says "340 small block, pushing about 400 horse"
"340? Thats weird isn't it? Shouldn't it be a 350?"
"No, 350 is a chevy motor. This is a mopar"
"Ohhh thats cool, my dads truck has a 350"
"Neat, have a good day"

He was from manitoba though, so I don't blame him lol.

(DIY) I like your car. I dig the billboards. and you dam near get a pass on the cowl as part of it faces the correct direction...

;)

I would make the comment about his tits but hes a gamer and i been with women with titties smaller.

Next time he's watching sports, ask what inning it is when he's watching hockey/football...

"when's he gonna hit a touchdown" when he's watching baseball...

Tell him that there's a thread hanging off of his shoulder. Then say, "My bad, that's your arm..."

Ha i may have to use that "thread on your shoulder" at work!

when I was a kid i wore shorts to work one day and my boss asked me, " are those your legs son? (me, yes sir.) Humm I thought you just rode in on a chicken"..

Ha ha, This thread may as well just get moved now...

Years and years ago, I had a 340 in an old FJ-40 Landcruiser. One day I was stopped at the store with the hood open. Some youngster in town stopped and looked.

"What size Chevy is THAT?"

I said, "when was the last time you saw a Chevy with the spark plugs pointing up like that?"

I don't know WTF he'd done if it was a Poncho or somethin. Some guy I used to know had a big GMC truck V6 in a LC. (305/351)

I found out years later why those have the spark plugs inboard. That's where the injectors were mounted on the GMC diesel version, and of course in part why they were so damn big and heavy

It's worse if you own a 67- valiant sedan. They do look like a lot like a nova but the valiant is actually wider and has more room. My buddy had a plum crazy 67 and when he went to the track one time there was a 66-7 nova also painted plum crazy so he parked next to it. I have the pics somewhere.

thanks :)

I actually have a 6 inch AAR hood for that car somewhere around here
ill see if I can dig it out and take some pictures for you, see if you like that better...but I got a feeling you will be disappointed

hum.. maybe it's just me, but I like the look.... and it's kinda rebel..

you should tell your "buddy" his man card just got weaker and his garage privileges are revoked..

I had my Dart in my garage with the hood/front clip off. A guy came walking up and asked "what year is your Nova". Its funny cause they don't look like a Nova, although I think they were Dodges direct competitor of the Nova.

It happens to Ford guys too. A neighbor of mine has a Ranchero, gets lots of "nice El Camino" comments.

Not sure about Chevys, but what always used to bug me back in the day was the Ford guys who'd pump the gas a half dozen times before trying to start my Duster. Never had a Mopar you had to pump more than once. More than that and you'd just flood it.

... And my Camaro gets called a mustang or a challenger quite a bit.

Wife's Galaxie has been called a GTO once, but usually gets properly identified.

Could be people are familliar with a couple years of a car only (69 camaro, 69-74 Nova, etc) and not the other body styles, the darts look similar to a 65-67 nova to me. There was a 70 Challenger that almost got me in trouble with my old lady, it was driving around town being spotted by people and Identified as my 68 Camaro while I was supposed to be at work.

A few years ago a friend and I were doing the annual Polk Street cruise night side by side. I was in my yellow 76 Duster with half top and he was in his 74 Gold Duster. We were just coming around a turn where they take a lot of photos and some bimbo in the middle of the street shouts out "Cool! Twin Novas!" We wanted to run over her so bad!

I can differentiate between old cars and pretty much know the difference, but new cars, especially Japanese ones, I cant tell them apart, I will go out to lunch with a co-worker in their ne Honda or Mazda, and I wlll usually always walk up to the wrong car when we leave the restaurant. LOL! :)

Then why don't you let them walk in front of you and just follow which car that they go to... :poke:

I was out in my '65 Barracuda and the nice lady loved it because "that Mustang is just liek the one I had years ago!" I said I loved it too...
Honestly - the cowl's a much better design once you really get fast. The drag from that Mopar scoop is horrible and the air going in is very turbulent.

Don't care. Looks cool. haha

It happened to me yesterday! Nice Nova! Oh man I started to see red right away! I calm myself down now and try to get them out of my garage as quick as I could. This is the guy that bought my wife 66 Barracuda and he was actually at my house while driving it yesterday .... :wack:
