Well, I hit a deer on the way to work yesterday. Actually, he hit me. I leave for work around 4am in rural Pennsylvania, so I see them often, but I never saw this one. I was just driving along and all of the sudden, wham! He ran into the passenger side. The damage starts below the door handle and continues all the way to the mounting bracket for the bumper. The pics are bad, I know. The damage isn't too bad. The estimate is $1700.

and hurt you and do more damage to your fine ride.#-o

I heard there were no deer left in PA...that sucks to hit one..I drive through what used to be rural, alot of houses now and deer going in and out between them. I live about a mile from my shop and see at least 3-5 dead each year. At least you didn't panic and drive off the road and really wreck it.

I'm originally from Clarion and I can vouch for the deer problem. I have personally hit two of them and my sister has hit three up there. I moved away 9 years ago and kind of doubt that it has gotten any better.

My wife said she hopes the deer isn't suffering somewhere. WHAT!?!? I hope gang green sets in and it suffers for years!
Tell tour wife it is most likely going to feed a pack of coyote or wolves.
If yall have some around there.8)

We have plenty of coyotes, but no wolves. We also have black bears. I've seen several, and one in a field near where I hit the deer. By the way, that's the 4th deer I've hit. The first time was on a Triumph motorcycle. The other two were with my Grand Cherokee. Anyway, I stopped by a friend's shop today, and he's not so sure I hit a deer. He said the damage pattern is too low. He thinks I either hit a big dog or a bear. On the under side of the rear bumper he found a few short black wavy hairs. Those hairs did not come from a white tail deer. That would explain why I saw nothing. Hmmm...

Deer have gone from a nusance to a serious problem in my neck of the woods. It's dangerous to drive after sundown.

WOW! that could have been alot worse.

As a teenager driving my parents' early 80's Honda civic in the early 90's I know this.

I deer ran into the side of it while I was driving and took out the door and quarter panel. None of these scratches I see here, I mean took them out as in totaled that side of the car.

Sure it was a Honda and weaker. But it happend to me in my '64 Polara a year later on the same road. Caved in the passenger door big time.
