Anyone have a picture of or know the correct mounting location for an early a washer bag. Went with original bracket on my 64 cuda but seems to close to firewall.
Thanks

Where you have it in the pic is the correct location and of course you can re-locate it further forward if you desire.

IIRC Mopar used the Jiffy washer bag from the mid/late 50's up through late 64 and in some cases to use up stocks, early 65's. I had a 65 Coronet that was a early August or Sep build and had the bracket for the bag. I gave up on finding one and swapped in the plastic tank. They might be reproducing them now - I'll ask a friend who is into 59 Plymouths.

This one was in parts bin with car and is in great shape. Was going to remove bracket and go plastic but it really looks cool contrasting with the gold paint.

Just checked with a friend and a reproduction 64 bag is north of $200. Unless you are doing a by the book with all the proper numbers, use the cheaper 57 bag

Bruce, mine is in the same spot, had dimples where to drill the holes, same for the washer motor, which is same on all 3 years...

Thanks Rick. Not bag she came with but it looks cool.
Car will be at shake rattle & roll show may 13th.
See ya there.

I'd say unless you're doing a show-type restoration, skip the bag completely and just jump directly to either the smaller '65-'68 or larger '69+ hard plastic tank with built-in pump. You can get new ones affordably. The tank holds more and is easier to fill than the bag, and the later-type pump is a whole lot cheaper and less leak-prone than the '64-'67 external pump.

That looks so cool and original. It will certainly draw eyes at a car show. Watch the start of the 1963 movie "Lilies of the Field" next time on TV. Sidney Poitier first meets the nuns when his car overheats and he walks up w/ the coolant overflow bag for a refill. Might have been a special option for cars in the Southwest. Yours must have been in storage since few would last that long under-hood.

Don't black ball me for this, early Mustang resto part suppliers have those bags in black, same size and same cap fits the bracket for about $20.In photo by the battery(B body).

The Ford external pumps are also darn near identical to the Mopars and a wa-a-a-y cheaper and easier to find.

I have a 63 Valiant with that and it has a bracket that bolt to the inner fender and the bag hangs on it....Don't have any pics. got it all apart,But your look's to far back
