Hey, just put a deposit down on my new ride: 1966 Barracuda. Its a factory 273 2 bbl but currently has a 360 with correct formula S 273 4bbl carb and intake set up. (can you say sleeper?) . . .
I'm having some trouble finding parts for this thing now! I'm really only in need of some cosmetic items currently but can't seem to find any of the "usual" sites that carry anything for this early A-body.

On another note, I want to either get a new or rechrome my instrument cluster / gauge rings, same goes for glove box door and the rear window / trunk chrome trim. Anyone know any good places for re-plating? Any ideas on price?

Lastly, I'm thinking about updating from 4 wheel drums to some power disks upfront. Anyone make a better kit than the others? Anyone use one of the kits?

Thanks! again, this is my first early a-body so its all greek to me now but I'll figure it out! :)

Your instrument cluster replating is as close as VAE Dash Restoration. He's a member of this forum and does great workl at a very reasonable price. He did my 66 Barracuda dash parts for a custom dash for my 65 Dart wagon. Check out http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=82901&highlight=VAE+Dash+Restoration He's also done the instrument cluster bezel for use in my 65 Barracuda or Valiant.

I've parts for that car also.....If you plan on keeping the small bolt pattern, the factory
'66-72 KH brakes are your only real option. For the big bolt pattern, I've only personal experience with the factory '73-6 stuff which works great but you have to change the upper control arms and carry two spares unless you changeover the rear axles and brakes also. Mr G's and Layson's also do the plastic rechroming and Layson's has reproduction back glass chrome panels. They're pricey.....about $800 I think, but they look nice quality from the set I saw a week ago in Vegas.
Thanks, Mark

the wilwood kit has optional boltpatterns and requires a 10" drum spindle....that you have!

hi rick here maybe sombody can help me out i cant seem to find frame rails for my cuda body's great frame not so any one now where iam in ontario canada

I'm starting to ponder the idea of ditching my 7 1/4 for an 8 1/4 axle. Anyone have a small-bolt 8 1/4 lying around? On that note, do I have to do anything to my drive shaft to swap in the 8 1/4 (shorten it, different yolk/splines?)

there was never an 8.25 with small bolt pattern

if you plan on driving it just go big bolt - front disc from a 73 and up A body ( spindle and upper control arm)

and an 8.25 out back

You can spend as much or as little as you want with the front brakes, since they come in kits or you can piece it together.

your OEM S 4bbl intake is a mismatch to the 360 heads. Shelf it and go with a LD340 intake or Stealth, Weiand, etc. Performers are 318 port sized but can be opened to 360 size with a die grinder and a set of gaskets. 273 heads on a 360 block makes a mean grunt motor but runs out of steam up top.
