Skate And Destroy
For those that have Kirkey seats in their A body - how did you mount it to the floor safely? I know I'm not going to merely bolt it to the floor. Any fastener will have some sort of support plate under it to prevent tearing through the floor in the event of a crash.
I have the #55170 seat and #99214 brackets. There's also a bracket that ties the seat back to the roll bar but I'm not concerned with that just yet, I need to get the seat mounted before I can start on that. I understand how the brackets mount to the seat but mounting them to the floor has me scratching my head.
I figure I'm going to have to fabricate some sort of flat base to put the brackets onto but I'm having trouble visualizing how to go about it. There are a lot of different elevations in the floor and from what I can tell, it might be tricky to get the seat centered to the steering wheel.
Guess I'm really looking for detailed pics and descriptions of how you executed mounting the seat.
Thanks for any input and/or suggestions!
