As general instructions, you can find a list of PN's with exploded views for most cars on FABO and other websites. Once you know the PN, try it in ebay and google. You'd be amazed what pops up. It may take 6 months of trying every few weeks. People find stuff in the basement after grandpa dies or a dealer closes and they have a bag with just the PN and list it that way on ebay. Think how hard it was to make that connection before the web.
I wouldn't fool with used under-hood plastic, only buy new. For plastic bushings and such, you'd be amazed what you can find in the little drawers at Ace Hardware. Sometimes with a little drilling you can make something better than factory from nylon bushings and such. Also check the Help line in auto parts stores. Many generic parts like that for many cars in the bubble packs. If you need to go hard-core, search the McMaster-Carr catalog, but you might have to buy a pack of 50.
Re communication problems, don't fret. At least you are trying. It takes a lot of effort to communicate clearly. That is a main reason for schooling. Kids always fall back on "you know what I'm talking about". No we don't! I have dealt with this with my wife for 25 years. She claims because she is from another country, but "that thing over there" isn't clear in any language. I respond "say that in your language". No better, since the problem is lazy talking.
