Was driving around the other day and the circle clamp that goes on the end of the linkage stud connecting the two linkages fell off and gave me a headache. Drove it home and started poking around. My bushing are gone. The rubber things that go over the linkage stud. Where can i buy these? autozone nor advanced has them as expected. Wonder if any of you guys know where i can get them. 904 transmission. thanks everyone

Are you talkin about the flux capacitor and peedlepod linkage? Or maybe the thingamajig and doohickey linkage? Or maybe even the dooflunkey and thinkamabob linkage? Must be on a 1970 something whatchyamacallit.

i was thinking it was the split O ring connector bushing welded to the box spring adjustable inside slip .02 degree U shaped transverse 1.8 ratio rod shaft grommet..lmao

Most decent trans shops will have, or can get them.
Not sure, but I think the dealer carries them.

Odd little one of a kind SOB aint it?

I assume you are describing the plastic bushing with the spring behind it.

Sorry i dont know these terms. Dads not around alot so i have to figure this crap out myself. Its the rubber thingajigga that goes through the hole in the linkage rod connecting the column to the linkage down below. were the linkage rod from below slides through the linkage rod from the column hoogla boogla thingy mahooter. Its a small rubber piece that looks like a earbud on these new headphones that go into your ear. Its stupid looking. I found a kit on jegs....but its a kit for 10$ with a 6 different sized ones that are for a 04 jeep even tho i searched for 74 dart?

on a side note the flux capacitor is on the fritz and the peedlepod linkage is all mangled and bamboozled. Im sure the uranium power supporter is leaking and im starting to come down with a serious case of the sniffles. Im also surrounded by Assholes. any ideas?

Well, first off, you didn't bother to tell what vehicle you're working on. I assume it is something with a 904 in it as you did finally make reference to that at the very end of your post. You didn't bother to say whether it's linkage on your window, carburetor, transmission, brake pedal, or anything else for that matter and we're all just supposed to automatically know what you're talking about? If that makes me an asshole, then I wear it proudly.

As general instructions, you can find a list of PN's with exploded views for most cars on FABO and other websites. Once you know the PN, try it in ebay and google. You'd be amazed what pops up. It may take 6 months of trying every few weeks. People find stuff in the basement after grandpa dies or a dealer closes and they have a bag with just the PN and list it that way on ebay. Think how hard it was to make that connection before the web.

I wouldn't fool with used under-hood plastic, only buy new. For plastic bushings and such, you'd be amazed what you can find in the little drawers at Ace Hardware. Sometimes with a little drilling you can make something better than factory from nylon bushings and such. Also check the Help line in auto parts stores. Many generic parts like that for many cars in the bubble packs. If you need to go hard-core, search the McMaster-Carr catalog, but you might have to buy a pack of 50.

Re communication problems, don't fret. At least you are trying. It takes a lot of effort to communicate clearly. That is a main reason for schooling. Kids always fall back on "you know what I'm talking about". No we don't! I have dealt with this with my wife for 25 years. She claims because she is from another country, but "that thing over there" isn't clear in any language. I respond "say that in your language". No better, since the problem is lazy talking.

Yeah we ain't tryin to rag you all to hell about it......if you can be a little more specific, we'll try to help as much as possible. I can't agree more with what Bill said. You can find all kinda stuff at a good hardware store.

i wasnt trying to be an ***, pictures really go a long way. i try to help every chance i get , but there was no real information to work with, and the coffee got ahold of me, and my sense of humor wasnt meant to offend you, ive been told i can be a sarcastic asshole , and for that i apologize

oh its split left right up and down whichever way you can think of. right now its bear just so i can get to school and back with some washers and a pin i found from 1972 in a sample pack. Thank you ill Pm you. Your my hero.

I mean if the hookah lookah didnt fall off the shishkabooty this whole mess would have been avoided. But since i woke up up with a weedle woddle and woozled out the door and boomled to school all thru the Ghetto (i cant make up a word for that. Its already dirty as is) and since i live in mass every road has to be fussrustled up my dart would rattle like a rattler a constipated child was holding trying to squeeze one out. Id be ok. That day was just foozle boozled up.

Thanks yall. making a sick kid laugh his *** off whilst laying in bed dieing of sniffles and boo boos

i would too. It needs a resurrection. 69 convertible. 307 whatever that chebby motor is. Here some pictures of the rotten Thingamapooper i been searching for.

That bushing looks a lot like a UFO i saw last week.
