It's their thing and must have a good time doing it..... Personally if they want to send it every pass that way they should evolve and do a rear engine setup and wind the crowd up right.....

I personally have never seen a female into this aspect of being a gearhead so my hats off to her. They know the risk and rewards. I do know at our local track that if you wheel up like that a whole bunch the owner is probably gonna talk to you. If it's out of control 2 passes in a single event they will tell you to tame it or trailer it. Looks this one is tame every time...

My goal is to not make this ever happen again....

That car is fun to watch but I wouldn't want to pay the repair bills! There used to be a bunch of wheel standing Mopar cars back in the 70's and 80's. I loved watching those guys hang the wheels every pass. A lot of that has gone away but not all of it. It is fun to watch but probably not the fastest way down the track.

He had mentioned in a post some bracing and welding that had been done to the front end on her car.

I now have my “better late than never” wheelie bars in place.
I bent the car up pretty good when mine came crashing down

at Byron Dragway (in my region) they have a wheelie competition. The whole track is yours, don't need to worry about crossing lanes or whatever. The crazier the better..... LOL

Yeah, I'm sure he's not as dumb or reckless as some have defined him.

Back in the late 80s through mid 90s Dave Sullivan was the wheelie king at Sacramento Raceway in an ex super stock Duster.
I've heard he had lead in his bumper, a full wt box, and steel bars wherever he could stash them.
I remember seeing 2/3 of his scoop rise over the roof, while standing behind him in the staging lanes on nearly every pass. Like A body in post 39.
Fun to watch, for sure but, we always thought he'd be 2 tenths quicker if pulled the weight out.

My black Duster makes its fastest passes when the wheels are in the air. I chassis tune it to the track. Weather is the biggest factor with how much horsepower is available.

Maybe they're just out trying to have a good time. All this bullshittin around is probably why he left this site to begin with. I wonder if the discussion would be the same if a man were driving the car? I bet not.

doubt this thread would have been started if it was a guy driving it.... LOL.. Who knows. Like I said earlier, the "woman racer" thing is a "thing" of the past. There are so many competitive girls at our track that the "it's a guy thing" can be set up on the shelf and officially collect dust. So many girls in Jr Dragsters and then they move on to 8 second rails. They've already been working the tree for 12 yrs by the time they are 20. Think they are frail, afraid, and are an easy out in the first round??? LOL, better think again.

I agree....it's been argued women are quicker on the tree......and better shots too. My point was, it's kinda easy to see why he got pissed off and left. I mean nobody says a thing about high high @pittsburghracer's car goes. It's badass, too.....but you don't see a thread around here talkin about it being dangerous.....or how the car would be faster if it didn't do it. Quite obviously, the lady knows how to drive the car AND enjoys it just the way it is.

A LOT Of cars do. It all depends on the setup. I don't think anybody has to tell you that. lol All this business about "the car would be faster if it didn't do that" is pure bullshit. They don't know. It's all in the total package. Some cars haul *** with the wheels in the air.

You are correct, great comparison with PBR ! Many males look to protect the maiden from harm, our natural instinct. :D Or, upset that a woman is riding wheelies, that's a man event!!!! LOL... And then don't forget those that find it "appealing" to put it nicely. I personally think it's cool car even if a guy was driving it. LOL. As mentioned earlier, I think the issues with him (her husband) here was something that was carried over from another form of social media.

I think from this thread, it's more upset that a woman "can do it too".

And to be clear, PBR, I wasn't saying anything bad about YOU......quite the opposite. I love your car. It's badass. Just makin a comparison.

Yep, you KNOW you're hooked when it stands on the back tire :)

There are some very good female racers around and they thoroughly enjoy beating manly men.

I shoot rifles and used to shoot bows until shoulder surgery. Several times over the years I've been told by guys that are instructors that women are easier to teach good technique and fundamentals to than men. They said most come without any preconceived ideas about how to shoot and listen to and follow instructions better than men. Shooting, like drag racing is for a large part mental, you don't have to be big and burly to do it well.

Well, you're absolutely correct. I stated I posted it because that it looked like she was having a blast. I would not have posted it if it were a guy.

Very true with most people attempting anything for the first time. You learn from an instructor first BEFORE you develop bad habits.
