This question has probably been asked before, but I am going to ask again. I have a 1965 Dodge Dart GT hardtop. Am I correct that there is only one place the VIN number on a hardtop is found and that is on the stainless-steel plate located on the left door hinge pillar post?

Yup, this goes up through 67, and "gets worse" in 68, because 68 has only one vin on the DASH and the dash is removable!!

69 / later has body partial vin stampings as well

Thanks. I had read that the convertibles had two locations for the VIN. Just wanted to make sure about the hardtop.

Yes. The window sticker, broadcast sheet, and IBM card would also have the VIN along with the shipping order number, which is the number on the fender tag and stamped into the radiator core support.
