I have a 1970 Duster and I am not sure what is needed in the lower column. Bearing plastic sleeve or some sort of dust cover. Any help would be appreciated I want to reinstall ASAP. It is a floor shift column. Thanks Barney

Sure looks like a column shift tube and lever to me.

Something like this? [ame]http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/141238550144?lpid=82[/ame]

Thanks for the response, I purchased Chrysler part #3575884 Lower shaft bearing, I hope it is the one. Thanks again

My original '70 Duster column had only the plastic bushing around the shift tube and a foam seal above that. The shaft itself had no lower bearing of any kind. Still doesn't.

I did the same thing. But am I supposed to remove the tube and put in a bearing? Or just leave it like it is? Which is "correct"?

I swapped the upper column sections (some people call them "collars") of a floor shift column over to mine as part of the conversion. Leave the tube and bushing in place. The only purpose it serves now is to support an upper section of the column. No additional bearings are required or necessary. Makes it very simple.

Here are some pics of mine: http://www.70duster440.com/interior.html#columnrebuild
