My 1974 Duster sags a little in the rear compared with the front. I like the lower look and want to match the front to the rear. I read using the search feature that I can lower the front by simply "loosening" the torsion bar. Is the nut shown in the picture the torsion bar? If I lower the vehicle with this trick, are there any concerns about doing so? Alignment or safety issues?

Thats the one for the strut rod. That go's from the front of the K frame to
the lower control arm. It is used to keep the lcr. in position.
You want the bolt on the bottom of the control arm. It go's up into the
lower arm. You'll see the head of it just out board of where the torsion bar
hooks up. You would turn it out (counter clockwise). to lower the front.
Be carefull! IF the springs are weak, so will the torsion bars. Then you won't
have much suspension travel.
Be carefull out there!

See those bolts hanging out the lower control arms? Thats what you're looking for.

Thank you all for the information. I think I found the nut your talking about. I'm new to the torsion bar suspension. Looks complicated.

..lowering is a good idea
too high removes castor and causes positive camber during suspension travel which is bad for handling.
you will probably need to adjust 'toe in'
