I ordered mine with green bearings installed. They set the bearing in relationship to splined end rather than to the hub end. So axles stick out too far and are too long ughhhh.

We'll see today if they'll take them back or remedy the situation in some fashion.

Did you remove the thrust block from the center section? It is necessary to do so when changing to the "green" bearing setup.

Yes thrust block/spacer has been removed. Even if the thrust block was there the axles would still slide in up to the axle flange because the bearings are pressed 1/2" short of where they should be.

Sent them an email, we'll see if they get back to me on Monday. Mancini is closed by the time I get off work.

The Yukon axles I bought from Mancini are too short for my powerlock.

Did you also change from SBP to LBP? If you did I bet your brake shoes and drums are wider. If that's the case all you need to do is to use the backing plates that match your brake shoe and brake drum package.

I went through the same thing when I got my Yukon axles from Mancini which have green bearings.

I was told the rear end needs to come apart, carrier took out and thrush block removed. F**k that!

I took my axles to a machine shop, had professionals remove 3/8" off of each axle. Brought them home and they popped right into place. I have not had any trouble with them.... that's been 3 yrs ago.

I had the same problem you need to call mancini and tell them what center section you have and if it is a clutch/cone or one wheel peal and take the thrust button out you have to take the center section out but you don't have to take it all apart all there is holding it in there is a roll pin.mancini hooked me right up. If you have the old center section with a clutch style You need a 28 1/4" axle if there 28" you will clean a 1/4" of the splines off the first time you do a brake stand

Thats one reason you buy them from a drivetrain specialist like Moser or Strange, you may pay a little more but well worth the extra cost..my axles went right in...

Man that sucks. I have never had any problems like that at all. Hell I have never had to pull that thrust button out of any of the rears I have done. I have always used moser though.

I thought I was done learning everything the hard way about 10 years ago, lol, but it seems as though I have more of that road to be traveled.

Call DoctorDiff and order axles next time....

he will ask you some questions like ...what center section you hare using..posi?

big bolt pattern or small bolt pattern.....

have bought 4 sets....and all have fit perfect including ones for narrowed rear ends.

Am I understanding this right? Would pressing the bearings a half inch more have corrected this?

That's what I thought after his post that said the thrust block has been removed so nothing should be stopping them from going all the way in, yet they stick out too far. The only other possibility is the axles are designed for wider brakes.

I just bought a ring/pinion..spool..bearing...yoke..and a few other small parts...

he asked about the yoke..i said i did not know what was on the existing 3rd member..told me to see what size the nut was, and based on that info...we were able to ID the spline on the yoke......and i did have to order the newer yoke...

Are those for stock A-body brake size? I talked to him about a year ago about some axles and at that time he said they would only work if you swap to the bigger brakes.

that is probably correct...i changed out to large bolt pattern ...on everything...lol

Backing plates and drums change according to the brake width. The axle length does not change

Mancini and Yukon where great mancini hooked me right up it took 3 week for yukon to make and ship.I got 1 day to beat the hell out of it before winter hit and had no problems.
