I'm sure this has been covered but can't seem to locate answers when I search forums. Any Input. I have an electric pump but it is loud and has some vibration. I have a holley 110gpm mechanical I can use. what are your thoughts? Stroker 422 hoping for 480 to 505 HP more would be welcome. lol

I'm running a mechanical Carter pump I got from Don at FBO. He opens up the inlet and outlet to 3/8" and flow tests the pump. I'm also using 3/8" pickup in the stock tank and 3/8" hardline. I haven't noticed any fuel problems, but I have not run it at the track yet. Engine is a 408, 445hp and 460 ft lbs torque.

I have 3/8 line from tank to carb right now, electric pump under passanger rear floor. Works great on my mild 318 but loud.

I'm tossing around the same issue right now. I'm thinking I'm going with an electric pump that I will somehow mount with a piece of thick rubber to reduce vibration and noise.

Dude, been there done that.

Get yourself a holley HP gerotor pump.
It is quiet as you can get and works like a champ, make sure you run a relay, I'm sure you already do, but this pump is sweet and I've used it for a year so far with zero issues, but I do keep my old jegs electric pump in the trunk as a spare in case this one ever fizzled out on a trip.

I know a couple racers that recommended it to me, and they swore by it.

It is sooo quiet.

I,m running a Carter manual pump on my 408(410)with an AED850HO DP(930cfm)I have the 5/16 sender still with 3/8 line running to the pump.I just bought a 3/8 sender and will run 3/8 braided line this winter.Car is consistant at 11.0,s@121mph 60 fts 1.52.I,m happy with it so far.8)

i run a holley blue pump and was loud.... i ended up putting a stock mechanical pump on engine and the electric pump back by tank. when just driving around normal i leave the electric pump off and the stock mechanical one still sucks fuel threw it. at 4-5 psi i think... i flip the switch and then get 14 psi to nitrous solenoid and 7 to the carb

I have used a holley blue electric for a few years, had to rebuild it once. Always noise ! I have just put my carter mechanical on my 383 but haven't run it at the track yet either. 3/8 pickup in stock tank, 3/8 stainless hard line. It's nice to not hear the pump running.

I think you will love it!

Especially after the old one being so loud that you can hear it over the motor.

The only thing I did not like about mine is I had to mount it with the fancy laser etched writing facing toward the frame rail and really wish they would have stamped it on both sides.

Keep in mind, you can also get the HP 150 which has more oomph depending on your ponies.

here's mine installed.

I installed one of these in the trunk in case someone plows me in the rear, it will kill the fuel pump, good idea withj electric pumps.
I got it from pegasus racing equipment.

I have the HP125 elec pump, ran it for a good 150 miles to & from the track, seemed good & ran it to sypply my mild 360 & a 125 shot, car ran out good on the nitrous, then i installed a pressure gauge & noticed the pressure fell off from its 7 lbs. to 4 under 1/2 throttle NA & never recovered, that spooked me & i took it off, i did run a volume test & it did put out about .8 of a gal in 20 seconds with just the key on & not running.

I have a Holley black pump with 3/8" pick up and 3/8" line up to the carb. its loud but thats fine cause' the car is loud and i like knowing the pump is on...
