MegaSquirt (MS3) or Holley HP EFI

Which version of the elite are you looking at because most of them only have output for 4 or 6 injectors, only the 2500 has 8. That would limit you to batch fire. The elites, while good, are their older models. The most comparable to a terminator x would be the rebel LS. Haltech seems like they make a good ECU and I wouldn’t hesitate to run one.
Good catch, I was originally looking at the 550 because it said "Supports 1 to 8 Cylinder engines" But yeah, looking closer it is with batch fire. My application is pretty simple (NA) but not sure I would want to lose the sequential. Looks like MS may be the best option.

Here is the comparison chart for anyone else interested:

Don’t get too hung up on batch fire vs sequential. There’s been lots of testing (horsepower) done on one vs the other and there is not much difference. Most people would never see it. The big difference is in individual cylinder tuning and on an NA engine you’ll likely never need that. If the ecu does everything else you need it to do don’t let that alone sway a decision if you’re going to stay NA.

Well, I do have a centrifugal supercharger sitting on the shelf that tempts me occasionally... But At this point I haven't decided if it makes more sense to convert to EFI or just fix the carb so I'm mainly looking for options. My big roadblock currently is a good manifold that isn't ridiculously expensive.

EDIT:Also looking more and it looks like the fun features (traction control, flat shift, shock/ride height feedback) start at the 1500 series. So not sure it really is much cheaper.

I'll admit, I was a lot more tempted when I had a more stockish engine. Since I got the 408 I've yet to think "I need more power". Usually a lot more about why the tires aren't sticking... I also am spending money on the suspension, wheels and tires and brakes next, so the supercharger will wait. I'd also need new pistons because I'm already at ~195 psi cyl pressure NA.
