The Milodon is almost an inch shallower than the Moroso but will keep the oil the same distance away from the crank because it's flared out at the bottom. What I never liked about the Moroso is the drain plug going up from the bottom of the pan instead of from the side like Milodon or many OEM pans. The head hanging down that extra little bit provides a nice little "catch" for the asphalt. I ripped out one plug when I had to drop off the edge of a return road to let a jr. dragster by and have pushed the drain plug up a bit when I smacked the pan on dry hops! The finish on the Milodon is also so much nicer than the painted, rust-prone Moroso. That's why I was so happy to get the TTI headers, which cleared the Milodon pan.
Milodon also has another version of that pan that is about another inch shallower. They just recently came out with it.
