I am having minor restoration work done to my Demon such as interior headliner and replating the chrome on the mirrors, door handles (in and out), ashtray, and bumpers. The spot on the door where the outside mirrors go on is almost rusted through and needs to be repaired. The shop needs to paint the door from the stripe up and it got me thinking about painting the entire Demon. It ws repainted once in the eighties and looks excellent with only a few chips, but I was wondering if I repainted it a different color than the broadcast sheet (orange on orange). Would this severly lessen its value as it was already painted once before and would it matter if I painted it black instead of orange again?
Thanks,

nice car...keep it orange....blacken the hood out or something....I personal think changing the color would hurt the value....not by thousands but would hurt it...black is so tough to get right..but looks awesome when it is...I am not a pro...just my opinion..others on here are pro's.... Just remember it is still a demon...you could paint it calf crap green and I would still love it the same.... DID I MENTION NICE CAR.... Just committ to the color of your choice and it will loook great...

Wow! That's a stunning colour combo. I'd keep it that way. And I think it would be worth more.
I have a black Demon that was originally Orange. A previous owner changed it to black. My car is like an oven inside. I'm bored with the black too.
Good luck to you.

That car is awesome. I would DEFINITELY keep it orange on orange for sure. Give it the demon hood where there is the black on each side and i would also get the dual snorkels amd some mopar rally wheels with white letter tires and your car would be perfect. Cant wait to see some more. I really like your car, wish i had it :D

PLEASE, don't go to black!
That car is totally bitchin the color it is right now.
WOW!!! What a great color combo!!!
X2 on rblack hood /different stripes or something, but leave the orange, it just looks way cool!!!
I Love your car!!

Thanks for the compliments. I have cragars on it with TTI headers and Dynomax dual exhaust. The photos are before I did those modifications as well as new torsion bars and leaf springs. Also installed a PST new front end with poly graphite to stiffen her up. I wll post new phtos as soon as I get it back in the next few weeks. I will keep it orangre on orange, but was curious about a repaint being detrimental or beneficial to the value as I hope my two year old daughter can drive it when she is old enough to do so,
Again thanks,
D340

Paint doesnt look bad at all. I would look into new door handles and new bumper, fix up the chrome and maybe the back of that seat orange but other than that, Its fine. Ive always loved orange on orange almost as much as the color sublime.

A story that fits to your question... About 1977, The shop that was painting my Gremlin had a orange 1970 Corvette in a prep bay. When I asked , Teddy said they were gonna paint it black for Gores Corvette World.( a dealer well known locally ). I walked around the car and said. " I dont get it. The car looks fine to me." Teddy replyed, " It's alla bout the used car business. This one has been on the lot about 5 months with only a few lookers. Paint it black or red and it will sell in a week."
So... If you dont plan to sell it , suit yorself. If you plan to sell it, paint it black. Good luck either way.

Hey D340, I think that you made a great choice to leave it the same color; definitely eye candy! Continue to take care of your Demon and your daughter and I`m sure that she will enjoy it too. Will be looking for the new photos. God bless you`ll. Wayne
