Modify Single strap '67 Tank?

Hey,

Working on my '67 Barracuda, got a new Tanks Inc EFI Tank. I'm not a fan of the single strap system, the tank doesn't seem tight. Of course, I have 3" TTI tailpipes, so I had to modify the J bolt on the passenger side, I might need to cut the strap and shorten it so that it will be tighter?

Also thinking about running the newer 2 strap system, will take some more modifying. Anyone updated to the 2 straps?

Also not a fan of the single strap set up and planning on doing a double strap on my '67 Barracuda.

Get onto Detroit Muscle they have the tank mats , I purchased the thick one rubber for my tank. A little trimming to your desire apply some rubber glue to keep in place . Tank strap sat on perfectly with plenty of adjustment left on the J bolt. They have the rubber strip for the tank strap as well that I used.

I do have an insulator mat, but of course I didn't put it on yet. I hadn't thought of gluing it on, I like that idea and will do it.

I just ordered some straps for a 78 Blazer, will be easy to make some mounting brackets with that style bolt. 1973-87 Chevy Blazer Gas Tank Straps

I'll post some pics up when I get it done.

Does anyone know where you can get the Gas Tank Strap Brkt, the one that mounts in the trunk? I too have a 67 single strap style that I am looking to modify into a 2 strap set-up.

AMD might be able to help, they supply them with their trunk floor replacement panels

Try a Parts Wanted post. There are reinforcement pieces added at other end of those straps also.
