What is up with the music channels. I was watching VH1 today and Shakira was on. When she was done I turned the channel because I didn't want to listen to Vaness Hudgins. I turned over to MTV and Shakira was on that channel. I have been noticing that a lot lately. They are playing the same songs back to back or at the same. I don't understand with all the music out there you would think there would be more of a variety playing. Shakira of all people too. Come on I got to have a little music before I go to work to get me going. :bootysha:

those channels have sucked for 15 years now. mtv was good when it first came out but jumped the shark years ago. garbage tv.

I dont have pay tv. I listen to all the radio stations play all the same songs again and again. If they still used a record player the needle would wear clean through the vynil and they'd have to play something different LOL

I was in Jr. high school when MTV started. Martha Quinn, Alan Hunter, JJ Jackson, Mark Goodman and Nina Blackwood were the Vj's. My neice's, who are in High school now, don't believe that they actually played music 24/7 back then...that channel really changed.

VH-1 classics does morning video block's of all the older stuff. They also do a Metal Mania show that's pretty good.

Right now there playing The Who's Tricky Day...great stuff.

I like the top 100 videos that they do actually. Top 100 Hard Rack songs, Top 100 one hit wonders.

Yep, I stopped watching those channels when the music died. It's so rare to see anything that is not a total waste of time. I'm about to pull the plug on my cable entirely. Remember when tv was free?

Nina Blackwooooooood, Mmmmmmmmmmmm.

No, No MTV or the like for me. Around these parts, they have (LOL) Raido TV. Select a channel based on your taste and let it play. I pop on a rock or metal channel and walk away. It's amazing how much they play that I have never heard of before. Must be some local no name metal bands that never made it to big but play well.

Our cable provider has that also rumblefish, it ranges from big band to hip hop and everything in between. I like how they flash trivia reguarding the band.

No MTV or VH1 for me. I have enough MP3's to play for a couple weeks straight at least. (40 gigs).

I have cable TV but I cut it to the bone. I asked about just getting internet service but they charge another 10 bucks without TV service, 12.95 with it. I figure having the ability to get the news every morning was worth 2.95 a month.

I get 3 stations with digital signal, 7 broadcasts total. Mtv did rock in the day, I'd watch it for hours. Now it is Youtube, Lastfm, Pandora, radio, or just the sounds of silence. All for less than my previous version of phone and long distance bills.

I don't watch MTV or VH1 much anymore. I do watch MTV2 on some Saturday nights, for 'Saturday Rock the Deuce' & 'Headbanger's Ball'. But sometimes that's just two hours of sucky music. I miss back in the day when MTV2 started, it was videos 24/7...and not just the same 10 or 12 over and over, and there was a good mix of well-known bands and artists who hadn't hit it big yet.

Nowadays, for music on TV....Fuse is basically my go-to channel for music accompanied by pictures...and I've got DirecTV, so I've got it on the satellite radio channels a lot of the time.
