By golly it is. A 2 barrel. Is this not a carb? Or am I dumb

Close- TBI started in '88, trucks only. Cars used an electronic feedback carb with the gen 2 electronic controller.Doesn't an 87 model have an ECM and TBI?
Looks like someone has been trying to hog out the primaries. It doesn't really look like a spread bore 340 intake any longer.
Must have been the previous guy I’ve done nothing to it lol.Looks like someone has been trying to hog out the primaries. It doesn't really look like a spread bore 340 intake any longer.
It came off a '70 340, so it would have been a square bore manifold with an AVS, not a spreadbore manifold and TQ.Looks like someone has been trying to hog out the primaries. It doesn't really look like a spread bore 340 intake any longer.
I was going to go with the edelbrock 1405. I’ve heard it’s relatively simple and would work alright.I put a 4bbl 750 vac sec carb and intake on my 273, it had a 2 bbl. It was faster with the 2bbl. I wouldn't go over 600 cfm.
Looks like a stock AFB/AVS pattern to me.Looks like someone has been trying to hog out the primaries. It doesn't really look like a spread bore 340 intake any longer.
No you’re definitely right. Looking at them in person you can clearly tell.I was expecting holes on a 3462848 intake to look more like this one (not mine):

The one he posted looks like the primaries have been opened up to me.
Maybe it's the lighting or my eyes are shot (that's possible). Also, the primaries on his manifold look irregular to me.
There are a few variations. Throw in the TQ intakes and there are several variations.I was expecting holes on a 3462848 intake to look more like this one (not mine):

That's a '68/'69 manifold (3/4" bypass fitting).I was expecting holes on a 3462848 intake to look more like this one (not mine):

Thank you very much!! I’ll add it to the list!Something like this has everything you need but opinions vary, I'm sure this is a knock off I bought mine from Mopar Performance 25 years ago. However if you found stock parts like distributor, Module and ballast resistor and the wiring harness you could make that work also.

Yes it is a 70', 4 bbl 340 manifold.
As I've covered before, you end up with column of air the size of the port, drawing thru intake with occasional gains in torque, proven by Mercruiser on various engines, most obviously w/Square Port Manifold on Peanut Port BB Chevy heads(a huge easily seen difference and probably the easiest to search for details on). & heard some Ford engines, that I never heard details on,The port mismatch is much ado about nothing. Ma Mopar herself build millions of 318 engines right from the factory with big port intake manifolds atop "mismatched" small port heads, so they must notta thought too much of it.
Exactly. In other words.....it can have some positive effects. Besides all that, the engine is only going to pull in what it needs. It's not like air and fuel is gonna "pile up" at the intake port at the head. That ain't how it works. & heard some Ford engines, that I never heard details on,
And step on bottom of port 'mismatches' is best as in turn fluids go to outside of turn & inside of turn is slow(think about boating on a river)
