I'm removing the stock intake from my 318 in my 74 Duster and can't get it off. Are there more than the 6 bolts per side holding it on? On can i chalk it up to the gaskets being on the engine for 30 years. Seriously this suck will have picture asap. Thanks for your help.

Yup actually had to take them both off, don't think engines been apart in 30 years, love a virgin lol. Now only bad part is that i cracked the timing cover while prying. Anybody know where i can get that? I'll get a pic so everyone can laugh at me.

Summit has new ones or you can hit the boneyard. I was going to add "gently" when I first saw this post.

jam a large screw driver between the block and intake just above the timing chain cover....then hit the screw driver with hammer....break seal.

Thats where a service manual pays for itself. You can get a lot of help and info on the web. You also get "DOH ! Forgot to tell you dont pry against the timing cover" and other small details like that even if you don't get laughed at.

This sucks don't drop anything on this spot of your car lol. BFHs make BFholes.

Is this fatal? 001.JPG

+1 on the timing chain. Trust me on this, you don't want to find out for yourself...
