Need some help please!

I have a 67 notchback that I've been slowly turning into a bracket car. Well, After dismantling the front end, I found that the frame on the drivers side is in BAD shape and the upper control arm mounts are basically gone! I've thought about an alterktions K member, But I believe they still require the factory upper control arm mounts. If anyone has done this type of repair. I'd love to hear from you and possibly see some pics? Are the kits from Autorust.com any good? And if anyone has the specs on the frame for this vehicle, I would gretaly appreciate a copy or just let me know where I could find the info..

Hey Ray;

I picked up a auto rust tech's cap for my Duster. The frame under the drivers seat that is part of the tranny's crossmember, where the T-bar is rotted away pretty bad.

It is a multi section (3) welded up steel (Very thick, thicker than the OE frame) that I opted to cut down and use as needed.
It is a cap. Like a baseball hat, it fits over the frame. You weld the cap to the body and like parts that you can.

Being that I also have less flooring than most cars, I was able to weld outside and inside the frame rail.

I have pictures in this thread at the end of the thread. It was the last thing I did a while back.

Thanks for such a quick resonse Rumblefish. Looks like you've done a heck of a good job on that one!! I can see you've put tons of work into it.
I think the framerails and upper control arm kit will do the trick for me, But I've not a clue on exactly where and what angles the upper A arm mounts should be. I could make an educated guess, But an actual print would be so much nicer. LOL
I know they should be right on, But if I'm off a hair, would it make that much difference in a bracket only car?

Thanks, gotta get back to that hack job of a weld I did. I really need to get the car UP so when I'm on my back, I can do more and better work.
I'll need to grind some of that weld down and reweld the poor areas if I find any.
I know I got some good penatration, but not everywhere.
POR-15 covers it up now and will again later.

You mean when you bolt the upper A arms to the frame rail?

I can measure off what I have now. A '74 Duster. I can take some pictures for ya as well if need be.
