a long time ago my father bought new bushings and brakes and torsion bars and everything to rebuild the front end on my car. he did one side when he got the parts a long long long time ago. then the car sat for a few years. then i became mechanicly inclined and decided id tackle the project. i blasted and painted everything. now im attempting to reasemble it but i would like to know where these parts go before i go any further.(im trying to figure out where everything goes before i put everything on)

also whats the bar that runs from the lower control arm to the front of the car called?
and what stuff should i leave loose and tighten when its on the ground?

the first picture is your sway bar end link. The second pic is not clear, so I'm not going to guess. The third pic is seal, perhaps the inner bearing seal on the spindle. The part you're looking for the name of is called a strut rod. As far as tightening everything when it's on the ground I like to tighten everything as I assemble it, that way if I get distracted I'll know it's tight and won't be coming loose or run the risk of coming loose once I drive it. I do double check my work, just to be sure. Remember for sanities sake and less stress, though, the torsion bar should be adjusted with the car off the ground, otherwise you're jacking the car with a wrench, making it that much harder.

sway bar end links like already stated.

Second pic looks like the old style strut rod bushing. You might want to consider the new upgraded version if available.

the bars your talking about that go from the lower arm to the front of the k-frame are strut rods...

you want to keep the lower control arm nut and upper control arm nuts slightly loose until all the weight of the car is on the suspension .

where does the strut rod bushing go on the strut rod? and thanks for the help

**edit** what does it go on the end that goes threw front of the k frame instead of those biscut style rubber bushings? do i use the sleeve still? thanks alot.

Dan something you might want to consider buying is a parts manual for your car also a service manual too. Great reference material and pictures. Get one on cd-rom...it will save you a lot of time. As in the reply above tighten everything as you go, also if you are doing tie rods, inner and outer, count the turns when you remove your old ones and when you put the new ones in put them in equal amount of turns that way it will be close when you go to get it aligned at a shop. I did mine on my satellite way back and when I drove it to the shop for an alignment my tires squealed the whole way I was out so much!!LOL!! Good luck its not hard work, just think before you started peeling stuff off. Take pics too if you have digital camera.

i managed to get almost everything together thanks to everyones help. just need to get the brakes and torsion bar on. as for allignment i was just going to run a tape measurer from the front of both tires and the rears untill they were equal. i figure i can get it at least close enough not to squeal. thanks alot everyone for the help.
