Next Phase of my Mopar Life

-
I heard from Brian at IMM yesterday and my engine is completed! It's going on the dyno this week and we should have some videos and dyno sheets by Friday.

I was so excited that I pulled the car out and knocked the top layer of dust off of her. The 318 that's in there is a decent little engine for putting around town or a quiet drive in the country, but I can not wait to get my new engine in.

So much to do, so little time...

Brian got the engine on the dyno yesterday, but has a doctor's appointment today so the dyno sessions will be Friday afternoon. The suspense is killing me!

Brian at IMM had a custom ground hydraulic roller made for my 414 small block stroker back around 2009 or so. He also hooked me up with valve springs upgraded retainers ect. He is a brilliant world class engine builder. And mopar small blocks are his specialty. My 414 terrifies a lot of passengers and scares the driver quite a bit too.

That stroker IMM is putting together for you is going to be an absolute beast!! Be careful out there.

I'm sure the anticipation is killing you! Sitting on there like it is, I'd say he has already run it thru some heat cycles and fiddled with it some. It looks good, and hey....the valve covers alone will give it 25 HP! Those are my favorites.

A Dana rear might end up in your plans at some point too. Doctor Diff can hook you up.

I put a brand new 8 3/4" in last spring using all new parts from Cass. If it breaks, we'll probably go that route. But that's doubtful with drag radials used mostly on the street. Time to invest in a tire company.

If the tires spin that will relieve the stress on the rear. Heated up slicks 4 spd hard launches with stroker engine that would be risky.

Looking forward to seeing those dyno results!!

So this arrived the other day and was tucked away safely into the corner while I continue to figure out the rest of the package.

Here is the dyno sheet that Brian sent.

And the build sheet

Slowly but surely, progress is being made. Last weekend we test fitted the USCT torque boxes and Competition Engineering subframe connectors. We traced around them with a paint pen, and then ground away the paint so that my welder will have something to weld to.

On Tuesday we took the Duster out to see Jack Dean. He is a retired muffler/exhaust man near me that has a shop behind his house. He does really nice custom work and he welded in the pieces for me with the help of our own @VOETOM .

Friday afternoon I climbed back under the car to paint all of the raw steel using paint that I had mixed up and put into a can at O'reilly's. I got a little over zealous with the overspray and will work on getting that cleaned up at a later date.
