In that picture, he has the car on "Life Support" (I remember that episode). It was a long running joke in the show, that the "Dodge" (Actually a Plymouth Duster) was a beat up death trap that was on its last leg. "Oh, Daddy, Not the Dodge!" (Kelly protesting against a trip in the car) :D

I'm not sure exactly when the Brown 1973+ Duster replaced the Red 1970-72 Duster as "The Dodge"

The thing I find funny,but ironic.Whenever Al supposedly comes into coin,they show a red 5.0 convertible as the "prize" to buy.Geez,what's more in demand these days? Somehow,being on " FABO",makes that a prejudged answer.....

they were gonna give them a viper for the dodge going a million miles.....and remember when kelly invented the bundy bounce? you guys better.....:disgust: the new allante....the bundy bounce was impressive.......lol
 
Great episode! Unfortunately,missed the bunny,Peg and the kids. But he did shoot Belo,the neighbors dog,LMAO!

Looks like originally a 1st gen, though not sure with the chrome ... One 1st gen h/l bezel, one 2nd gen. Grille from a '72 Duster, 2nd gen bumper, "deluxe" Duster hubcaps... A great effort to make it look like the "junk" that would befit Al Bundy, but only those familiar with A-bodies would catch it...

I think they should've sourced a rustbucket from NorCal to Washington, Idaho, MT, or etc.... Somewhere where snow and rust are common; not some nice SoCal car that has never seen elements...

btw, does anyone happen to have pics of the A-bod they used on the episode where Al's car got lost at the carwash?

With your India flag and such, I'm not sure if you were born in the States or came later... Sooooo, let me give you the run-down, assuming you missed the entire era, on the show....

The character, car, and image, comes from an 80's sitcom that was an American TV staple in its time (even spilled into the early 90's, and was quickly syndicated)... The show features Al Bundy, an All-American loser, depressed and despondent. He and his car were all that in High School and shortly thereafter, but today (in the 80's), he and his car are well-aged... The show is quite hilarious, and I highly recommend (If you are good at the whole 'putting yourself in that era' thing) that you acquire some episodes by any means necessary....

Some of my earliest memories are of this show... :)
