No EGR on aftermarket intake manifold

1973 Plymouth scamp 318

I am planning on buying a new intake manifold. Most intakes I see have no EGR port. Will this be a problem on my 318?

I read that without egr valve the engine can knock and ping has anyone encountered this problem do to no EGR valve?

They only ping if it's calibrated leaner because it uses EGR. All you have to do is make the necessary jet changes & it should be no problem.

I'm with you on that. I have decided to go without egr. orordered a weiand intake .
