Went to Mid-Michigan Motorplex today to see if the car still needs work to leave straight. First time there - a REALLY nice track just like I was told. Car left straight every run! Hmmm...was it the track or did my adjustments on the CalTracs work? Who cares!!
So instead of fighting the car leaving left, I could focus on reaction times and shifting by the new shiftlight. Still have a way to go but getting the hang of the Cheetah shifter and the shift light. Played with launch RPM (this is a foot brake car) so will have to get that figured out as I was too late at 2000 (0.060's) and way early at 2600. I'll get that figured out with some more outings.
It was 90F today and the track was running into about a 20 mph headwind. 1/8 mile only and ran 7.16-7.18. I was too lazy to lean out the jets for the temp so was happy where it ran. This was the car's first bracket race - and even won the first round. It didn't last but thats ok - was overall a good day. Hopefully more fun ahead!!

Cool! Glad you got it goin straight. Just one peon's opinion, but unless it's fat as heck, I wouldn't worry about it. A little fat is a good thing, IMO. Trying to lean one out to the nth degree ain't really good for one. A little fat runs cooler and has more protection against detonation.

Congratulations buddy that's awesome! Thats a really impressive time. I bet you'll be in the 6s before summers end!

What’s your short time and MPH
Forgetting the run off the trailer, the 60' times were 1.52 with a 2, with a 3, and with a 4. Pretty consistent! 1/8 mph today were 92.9 to 93.8. The headwind was combining with the high temps to hurt the mph.
Last week in better air the 60' was a 1.510 and the 1/8 mph's were 93.8 to 94.7.
Car now seems to hook and leave pretty consistently - couple inches of air under the front tire with the axle clearly separating and moving down to the pavement.
