I took apart a spare 8-3/4 housing that had 2.76 highway gears in it. To install some 3.23's.

The yoke I pulled off the housing Im setting up was a 10 spline, and also the u-bolt style. I could not get it to fit my 7290 u-joint caps. The caps just sat at the top of the yoke. I assume, (like my old yoke) on my original housing which sadly was 29 spline that the caps should just sit in the saddles.

Does anyone know what size u joint this yoke may fit? I couldnt find any #'s on it.

My u-joint measures roughly...

End of cap to end of cap about. 3.654
Outside of clip to outside of clip. 2.670
Cap Diameter. 1.128

by my quick measurements that is a 7290 u-joint.

It's not 7260/7290. Is your 7290 wider than the stops?

Measure the stop/retainer width. 3.219ish? Caps are likely 1.06"

My bet 1310

Same width as my 7290's

You have an Imperial 1330 yoke.

Cass, comparing the measurements to 1330, I do believe you win sir! Now where the hell did I get this center section from and what do I do with this yoke?!?!?

Sadly, I guess the car will be sitting on jack stands this weekend!

If the cap measurement is correct then you need a 1330 S joint, not a 1330, if you measure the saddle again and it measures 1.06 not 1.12 then you need a 1330 and not a 1330 S

The Imperial yoke takes a standard, 1 1/16" cap 1330 U-joint. You can run a conversion joint.
