Here's the one that got me seriously turning wrenches again. Used equity I had in an '86 Daytona to buy it from an estate. 273 2-bbl, 3-on-the-tree. Work done: repair rusted battery tray, replaced front drums, rebuilt front end, valve job, restored interior, fixed aftermarket A/C, replaced York compressor with an Airtemp RV-2. Sold car twice: 1. To insurance company less salvage value after I got caught out in a hail storm. Was able to "quench" and tap all but one small dent. 2. Wanted more power and didn't want to cut it up to install a 4-speed, so I sold it again, this time transferring title.

Missed my Mopar, so I searched for another. Had 8 cars bought out from under me before, I found a note I made on a '66 Dart GT that had been for sale two years prior. 273 4-bbl, 904, disk brakes, factory A/C built in August 1965 in Los Angeles. Found evidence of original finish on underside of transmission tunnel. Restoration took two years. Only non-OEM type parts on car were the radial tires (Goodyear). Had everything off of the car except for the sheet metal and the glass. Rushed finish for photo shoot for High Performance Dart book (back cover). Sold car to go to school.

It's for sale when the right new home for it makes itself apparent.
