Well I don't know what the heck is going on now.
My boss got laid off today. There's only 6 of us at this facility, and they came in today and told him, no warning.
He was there when they started the business and new how and did every thing from top to bottom.
I'm confused :?
I'll be back in a few hrs.

I just started 3 months ago.
Something is not right, I can't put my finger on it.
Just odd how they just hired me and one other guy, and we are still there. Usually they take out last hired first, not the first hired, who helped set it up.

I know when I worked at the dealerships it was quite political as well. If people didn't like what was going on they quit. I hung around for awhile (8 years) until I said enough was enough. Life's been good ever since.

The company I've been with for the last 10 years has laid off close to 5000 people in the last 4 years, gone through countless re-orgs, and have closed many of it's locations around the world. Jobs have been outsourced to Bangalore and Bangkok... Morale is way down, everybody is sure they're next to go.

A lot of it is politically motivated, nobody really knows what's going on until it happens. It's a sad state of affairs.

It go's to show you nothing is for sure, I work in the car business and this kind of stuff happens all the time. I'm second in command so you know who's fault it is if something isn't right. Here's a clue! it ain't the first in command :?

I've worked at new car dealerships for over 25yrs. and all I can offer is this. Don't try & figure it out: If the axe missed you, step OVER the body and continue on. They can smell fear...... On countless occassions I've told my boss that I don't have a mortgage or kids to feed, my wife earns good money, and I don't need this friggen job. He treats me nice..... :wink:

yea that sounds about right.....i have a morgage and a family, and my boss who laid me off has no morgage, no family,he lives with his girl friend who makes excellent money,in her big house!!!! only bill he has is the shop :angry4: pisses me of when he says "times are tough i can bearly keep the doors open"..................BELIEVE ME HE DOESNT KNOW WITH TOUGH IS IF IT BIT HIM IN HIS FAT ***!!!!!!! :sad3:

As for your boss Rory. if he didnt think his exhaust systems were gold plated he wouldnt have to worry about being out of work.

Yep, i get fired.
As since , i'm been out of work, but what a hell, i live, and i'm not taking it personal...
It was a sorry job and i make that company lot of extra money, but i didn't like one of my bosses, and that he knew and he also fired me...

How small boss really think ?
