Oil is leaking out of the bolt in the oil filter housing (see stock image). The bolt is tight, is there a gasket between the bolt and the housing? I really couldn't find anything online

The leak was verified by jacking the car up and running the motor (plus all the oil on the exhaust pipe and puddle underneath. And of course, it doesn't leak with the motor off

two small round gaskets on inside and outside of bolt. one big round gasket between the block and adapter.

if all you had to buy was the gasket kit, you got off lucky. Mine adapter is warped, had to find a replacement (not cheap) and the service kit too! :banghead:

Dont feel bad, same thing happened to me. I found that I didn't even need it, I just used the smaller oil filter and clearance was plenty.

It may be inconsequential to your problem, but I've restored / customized three of those aftermarket oil filter relocators. Two of the three had a flap of somewhat loose metal inside where the punch didn't go all the way through; if yours had a flap and it dislocated, it could be a problem. Doubtful, but maybe.

The gasket kit fixed it up. i've put about 80 miles on it - in traffic- no more leaking (now to just clean up that mess)
