Oil filter orientation

-
Im keep the car a good quality driver. I'm just redoing the top half of the motor at this time. The intake, valve covers and air cleaner come back from the powder painter this Friday. What is pictured is what I have got done so far. I'm taking the engine back to red and he air cleaner and breather wrinkle satin black. Kinda a play on the commando valve covers. I'll send you more pictures in a few weeks. I'm going in vacation so it will be mid-November before I get her back on the road.

Do you plan to leave the interior the way it is or are you going to make any changes??

I plan on keeping it original. There are plans in the future to replace the dash the lenses in the center consul and carpet with reproductions that are brand-new. But everything works now and everything is original. I love it.

I didn't like the old drab green interior on my Barracuda so I had the upholstery guy insert these yellow sections. I also had a local shop do some embroidery on the headrests. I built a rear head rest for the kids to be safe and had that upholstered and embroidered also. I also replaced the black seat belts with these bright yellow ones to make the car more sporty looking. As you can see I also built an armrest that rises above the console and still allows the console door to open fully. Rear speaker boxes also.

Holy smokes...that is bright yellow!!! I do like the idea of adding head rests to my seats. Keep you eye out for 68-69 headrests.

FWIW... the right filters should have an anti-drainback valve in them (a rubber flapper in reality). This keeps oil in the filter for a while (not forever.) So orientation makes little difference.

BTW, I would suggest putting some covering on the remote oil hoses like aluminum tape to reflect the heat from the manifolds. That black hose will absorb gobs of radiant heat. And add some extra oil cooling to the reasons to use a remote filter. Be sure to add a bit of extra oil to compensate for the extra capacity of the lines.
