The interesting thing is that it easily accommodate a Thermoquad, I can't ell you how many times an aftermarket air filter wouldn't work because the manufacturers didn't know about that raised position of the accelerator arm. This cleaner fits like a glove, which makes me think it is from a B body 72 up to 74 ??

I'd love to put this on my Dart fully chromed, but $$$$

I saw one that looked like this that sold for $650, guy claimed it was off a 70 440 Super Bee

Yeah they're pricey, I used one in trade a while ago and it was in great shape for $550.00 that was 5 years ago too

That is a 1971 only air cleaner for BB single 4 bbl. Because of the pipe for the breather hose on the left snorkel. The other years has the pipe on the right rear of the housing.

So .. it could be a 70, B Body ?? With a 440/375 hp, i.e. Bee, RoadRunner ??

I'm thinking a numbers correct restorer guy might pay handsomelyy for this ....

No, it's a '71 only. If you think $250 is handsomely... I've had a complete near mint one for sale for 2 years.

I had an original 71 383 Road Runner in 1981. It did not have that breather vent nipple on the left side snorkle. I'm thinking it's from a Police engine, 71 or later though?

If I have interpreted correctly, I believe that the 71 cleaner (one year only)with the nipple was a 1 yr experiment in forced crankcase ventilation.

Maybe Mopar's attempt to prepare to meet the 72 upcoming government emissions requirements.

A hose attaches to the nipple and goes through loops on the side of the filter
To the back of the filter, then goes over to the valve cover and attaches to the valve cover via a "breather".
There is no breathing here, it is a specially designed device to capture random oil. (See pic)

What I'm not understanding, is that 1 pcv valve was supposed to capture all the crankcase fumes ??

If I saw that at a swap meet I wouldnt hesitate to drop $200 on it. They are getting hard to find. I dont care for the ones with the oval snorkels. There were also rectangle unequal length snorkels which dont look as good. You have the good one there.
I would have guessed 70-72 as well.
