thats why its always a good idea to prelube the engine before initial fireup.rod cost around 15 bux

i had an old 55 dodge pickup with a 440. when the motor finally quit i pulled the bottom end apart. 3 of the rod bearings were completely gone and so was part of the rods themselves. id driven it that way for quite a while. oil psi was real low at idle but got up to around 40 at the cruising speed
