A lot of you guys know by now that I am working in a local hotrod shop... just thought I'd share some pics of what we got going on. I have been working on both of the cars that are in progress but the blue coupe was finished before i got there.

Even locally a lot of people don't know about it. Most of the cars they have built have been for the owner. He owns two collision shops (big ones) and opened this up. Only done a couple customer cars (like the tube chassis nova) and the rest have been his. The guys i work with are extremely talented too.

On that 36, the front and rear fenders are scratch built. As is the bottom half of the grill shell, the whole back of the car and rollpan and window, running boards... thats it so far... as if that's not enough. haha.

WOW !!! Any kid that wouldn't like to work there is either brain dead or on crack. Learn all ya can and try and get your hands on experience. Let the guys know you want to learn and they'll teach ya. Very nice cars.

Wow! Nice cars!
They actually pay you? You are a lucky guy Zach.
Looks like a dream job to me.

So glad you landed that job Zach  That would be a very cool job to be around some tec's ready to teach you a cool trade.
We have a couple Hot Rod shops here and they have turned out some cool cars. Heck I would donate my time just sweeping floors and dumping trash just to be around and watch :-D

Here is a friend of mine that works there "last two pictures"and his 58 Ranchero getting inspected :-D

Thanks guys! Yeah it's been a great experience so far. I just finished my first month there. The head fab guy/welder is teaching me to weld after I clock out. I'm not that bad surprisingly, but practice is helping. The boss threw me into 40 hour weeks right off of the bat. It's like getting paid to play/learn!

They are sponsoring a car cruise next monday so I will get some pics of other cars they have built there.

You lucky dog you! I know why you got that job though, it's your attitude. I can't even get my guys to train without them wanting a billable ticket. Whatever happened to wanting to learn on someones own time?

When I was your age and working at the motorcycle shop I'd stay late off the clock just to learn from the owner. Good job Zach and keep up the good work.

Youre a good guy Zach. Glad to see you getting the breaks you deserve.Sponge up all you can and share it here with us dummys. lol
