my trans dont want to keep trans fluid in it i put it in will motors running and its in neutral its a new trans

Sounds like the 240Z that came into a friends shop..... The lady filled it with oil until she could SEE the oil level through the filler hole. That was a lot of oil.

i had the same thing happen to my 727 in my truck. the vent in the bellhousing is plugged. this is how i clear it. i removed the incoming cooler line. my buddy (this takes 2 people) put a rag over the dipstick tube and held it in place tightly with his hand. i applied 120psi a air into the trans at the cooler fitting and a few seconds later it cleared it out with a loud pop.

whitch cooler fitting front or rear couse im tired of it pissin atf on the headers thats what my frend said but he said id have to take the trans out

A plugged vent can cause that but if it's a new trans it shouldn't have the vent plugged unless the person that did the overhaul was a total pig and didn't clean stuff very good in which case expect alot more problems down the road. The rear cooler line is the return so if I we're to try to unblock a plugged vent that's the one I'd inject air into.

thanks I'm thinking it was a mud dob er because it was siting in a friends shop for a year or 2 or when they painted it they left a pice of tape over the hole

That could cause it. I think before I pulled it out I'd at least try to inject air to the rear cooler port. That port goes directly into the case so if the vent is clogged it should open it up. Might blow some fluid out also but considering how much work it is to R&R a trans, I'd give it a try. BTW: I'd only try about 50 psi of pressure to start with and see what happens. If it don't blow through try adding more air pressure until it does.

i got it workin i made a vent i took the plate off the the tall shaft housin and driled it and brased a brake line in the hole and ran a hose on the brased line up to the top of the filler tube bin workin ever since
