Slant six 70 Dart converted from points to Chrysler electronic. I'm still running the ballast from the point system. Never thought about it. Should I be using a different one?

Actually, there is a difference in points vs electronic ballast resistors. To my knowledge, the difference is in Ohms. Im guessing you are using a Chrysler electronic distributor from a 73 up. I would either use a ballast resistor from 73 up, or go with the MSD part #8214. I use the MSD resistor.

Did you also upgrade your voltage regulator to electronic ?
Which coil are you using ?

Yes factory dist, Johnny. Voltage regulator is electronic and stock coil that was on the point system. Not having any issues, just wondering.

Hi, Yes as Johnny Dart said... there is a difference ...
The electronic conversion kits came with a ballast matched for electronic ignition. I know my car ran noticeably better when I switched ballasts after the conversion, a lot less heat as I found my coil so hot I couldn't touch it and it effected the spark, coil was cooler following the change. The OHM rating is different from one to the other....Google it or look on here , I cant recall the OHM rating required for electronic..Hummm .5 or .75 sounds familiar...but look around to be sure.
