Who has a mid 11 to low 11 sec Abody that they drive on the street ? Post your small block or big block engine combo. What are you running 4sp, auto, what gears. All steal any fiberglass ? And of coarse any pictures ? I think- that people that have a 11 sec 10 sec car that they drive on the street with exhaust is impressive. That's just me

Well..i'm really close. I street drive mine in the identical trim I race it in. Through full exhaust on street tires and with pump gas.

It's 69 dart Gt. mini tub, glass hood. Leafs out back, dana 60, 4.56's, GVOD, 727 and AlterKation. Full interior, stock shifter.

engine is a 440, MPP cam, 2" headers, 950 carb, eddy heads OOTB.

It's goes 11.70's.

This is my car back when it was an 11.78 street car. Original stock stroke 340, original X heads, factory 4 speed, 3.91 gears, full stock interior.

The pic is actually 4 years before I bought the car, that's my 1973 Camaro in the background.

I am running a 400/500 stroker with 1 3/4 headers 2 1/2 inch exhaust, RPM heads, a 750 Holley DP and a Comp hydraulic roller cam. It made 550 HP and 610 TQ on the dyno, before I swapped to the RPM heads, which I figure were worth at least an extra 25 HP. I run a full manual 727 with about a 3500 convertor and 3.55 gears. It is a blast to drive on the street and has run 11.50's at the drag strip on drag radials with full exhaust, basically drive it off the street.

My Duster when it was a 11.70 street trim car. J-head 340 with a 4 spd on pump gas. Just a glass hood. 10.90 on a small shot.

1968 formula s barracuda. 372 CID, 4 speed manual with GVOD, 4.56 gears. All steel, full interior, full exhaust, M/T 255/50/15 drag radial. 11.47 @ 118 MPH.

Just curious why are you running such a small header w 500 cubes? 1 3/4. & 2 1/2 exhaust sounds pretty restrictive...??? I would think that beast would want to breathe on the big end....maybe another .2+

The car started out as a 400, with Hedman B body headers because they were cheap, and home built 2 1/2 inch exhaust. When I lost a cam on break in it messed up the entire reciprocating assembly so I stepped up to a stroker kit. I reused everything else from the 400. The car ran close to the break of 11.49 where I would have to put in a roll bar, and I won't do that, that there was no point in stepping it up. Plus I street drive it 90% of the time, so the smaller headers and exhaust fit better and are quieter. In fact I am in the process of replacing the exhaust using TTi 1 3/4 headers and a complete TTi 2 1/2 inch exhaust system with an H pipe and Dynomax VT mufflers. My goal was a car with excellent street manners that could hold it's own at the track, and that's exactly how it turned out.

Thanks for the info, I was just curious, wasnt trying to knock it and hope I didnt offend you. I wish my plans turn out as I hope for!
Its a beautiful car!
Thanks again!

No offense taken. I was always the first one to try and squeeze every last ounce out of a combination. Luckily there is a rule in place that is keeping me from going nuts. if they ever lower the rollbar requirement, I am in big trouble.

My 71 Scamp 440 with 8 3/4 rear with 4.10s. Motor is a 446 with an Edelbrock RPM top end kit with Schumacher headers. Best it has run was 11.37. Fiberglass front fenders, hood, bumpers. Uses pump gas 92.

My '70 'Cuda runs mid-10's on pump 91, naturally aspirated, weighs over 3800lbs with me in it, has a 493, Indy SR heads, 950HP Holley, Hedman 2" headers, custom .607 lift roller cam, 10.5 comp, has no heater box or wipers, glass hood, runs thru full length 3" exhaust with the old school Flowmaster Top Ten Shootout mufflers. The scoop is actually only 4", but looks taller from the low angle.

What did you do on the engine and what clutch are you running?

Valve job performed on LA edelbrock RPM heads and springs changed to match my cam. 340 block: mains line honed, cylinders bored .020" (using .060" SRP 360 pistons and a mopar performance 3.58" stroke crank), deck heights equalized, rotating assembly balanced. Cam motion flat tappet mid 250's @ .050, comp cams roller rockers, M1 single plane with TQ carb mounting pad reshaped with moroso AB epoxy to match my 750 double pumper. 3/8" fuel line with an electric Holley red pump.

Using McLeod borg and beck long finger pressure plate and dual friction disc.
