Stephen Tate bought this car in 1971 in a suburb of New York City, when it was only about a year old and in mint condition. It was originally equipped with a four-barrel 340 with a four-speed manual transmission.

Looking at the engine compartment I do see the Tran AM tag next to the ViN tag...

Not a real AAR, but the car is beautiful. I’m pretty sure it has better than 11.40 in it as an auto. Just so hard on parts and being consistent with the stick.
