Getting close to firing up my Duster, well I hope. Has a 340, comp hyd. Cam, edelbrock alum heads. I've been priming the damn thing for 15 minutes, it has over 70 psi but no oil to the rockers yet. What gives? Does it take that long? I remember my sbc taking about 10 minutes.

Isn't that to line up holes in the cam journals/bearings?

yes...the oil will only go to the rockers went the holes in the camshaft on journals 2 and 4 line up the holes in the cam bearing on journals 2 and 4...

so the crank needs to be turned slowly while the oil pump is being spun..

And after that another thing I do is turn over the engine with the ignition off until I see good oil pressure a while. Then I turn on the ignition and fire it. I do that each time my car has sat a while on the first start.

I knew u geniuses would have an answer! Lol. Thanks for the info guys
