Purchased "DART" letters from windy_city_muscle_cars and when I went to install the letter "T" broke off a post without even being tight, you can see a void in the casting. For a point of reference there was issues with a few letters that would not even tighten at all, see letter "D" in attached picture. The provided fastener just.. fails to advance further down the stud.

I reached out to seller with pictures and description of problem requesting a new letter "T" with zero response. Gave them 24 hours and tried again.. zero response. Waited another 24 hours, still nothing. At that point checked their feedback... oh no.

Yesterday I initiated a complaint & return through Ebay and they indicate a return label will be issued by the 27th.

I have still no contact with seller at all. Buyer beware.

The seller isn't running the casting shop. 99% of the time, the repo parts have one single source. The seller SHOULD at least communicate. They look like a crap show, with all 1 star reviews.

I never stated they did, I was simply stating what the nature of the defect was.

My post is in regards to warning others about the utter lack of communication or service after sale.

OER is a fairly large company that produces all sorts of restoration parts.

Perhaps contact them?

I would be surprised if the OP found any resolution through OER, since he didn't buy directly through them. But, it's worth a shot.

Iirc there are dart letters for the fender and for the trunk lid .

Is it possible you got fender letters and tried to put them on the trunk lid as an example.

I know the Dodge letters on 67 look identical to the Dodge letters for the fender except the fender letters sit on the style line and have a v shape on their backs vs the hood letters that have a gentle curve. (Basically flat)

Why would I contact them? The posting is about warning others about a bad seller.

I'm well aware of the difference, I just spent a few hundred buying them all.

I have no interest in contacting them, they are only tangentially related to the topic.

My resolution will either be:

1) The seller replaces the defective part.
2) Ebay refunds my money and I buy from a more reliable seller.
3) I go after the seller and Ebay through Citibank services whom I have had since 1988. I can assure you they will be delighted to pull the charge should Ebay fail to follow through on money back promise.

Point of the post is to warn others about a sketchy seller, that's it.

Please explain to me where the letter "T" is located on the trunk or hood.

I never buy anything from a seller with less the a 98% rating, and even then I look at total number of sales, and feedback.
I don't even go that far down. If it's not 99.2% or better, I keep lookin. Cause let's say a seller has a score of over 100K and lots do. That means they have TWO THOUSAND negatives or neutrals. Nope. Not gonna happen Cap'n.

So those letters are fastened with a nut? On my '72 , the Swinger emblem is fastened with a barrel type clip. Was missing one or two, I used a small piece of vacuum hose to hold it, seems fine so far.

Yes they are attached with a sheet metal nut as pictured in the first post.

Understood, just saying that if the problem continues, maybe try another way of fastening them.

Was literally one of the last out of 18 letters (and 28 nuts) and in the case of quarter letters & trunk letter s foam backed nuts to keep water from getting into the space. Frankly I'm impressed by the quality of them and surprised I had not run into an issue beforehand. The quality of some parts has gotten notably better over the years.

I’ve had a problem with these people as well

Yeah Ebay is funny because a seller can have a 97% rating and then you'll look at their reviews and 1/3 of them are 1 star reviews.

I've seen this seller before so thanks for the heads up.
