Actually is that not a pic of the idler. We are going to measure the pitman correct?
Well I have installed the moog idler, so I figure that is not the problem. That is the idler. You want the pitman arm also?
Any chance you could post a pic of the bent pitman arm. After re-reading this thread I went and looked at mine real close. My center link was higher on the drivers side by 1/2”. I’ve always had a problem with the TTI headers not fitting correctly, shimmed the drivers side engine mount by 3/8 and still had to dent the bottom 2 tubes to clear the pitman arm nut/stud.
It had always bugged me, engine tilted to the passenger side, dented $800 headers and still the pitman arm stud would drag on the tubes.
So my buddy stopped by with the flaming wrench, a bit of heat to the pitman arm, slight bend and now the center link is level and the pitman arm stud clears the tubes. Turning is still as it was so I’m calling done.
Where can you buy a +1 inch idler arm. Never heard of that. From the QA1 pic, it looks like they moved the idler arm mount forward 1" or you could correct it with a +1" idler arm. Hard to tell from the pic as it is not shot perpendicular to the center link. They could not move the steering as it would affect the existing steering shaft length.
Yeah, I never heard of one either. That was the point. Perhaps you could adapt from another application that had a longer idler? This one is +2" and fits B and E bodies....? (states that you must use with their matching longer pitman arm)Where can you buy a +1 inch idler arm. Never heard of that.
