Sorry if I sound like I am bragging, but really I am humbled. A new untested car after 2 years off from even once getting behind the wheel, and we qualify for the Summit series Race of Champions in Seattle.
One runner up, one win. Makes for # 5 qualifier
At Seattle, the car ran five 10:92's in a row (best was a 10:85 when the track was cool and tight). I go 4 rounds in the Gambler on friday, when they called the race at 11 PM for cerfew, and divided the winnings betwwen us 12 cars $540.00 each.
Took down two 7 second dragesters on the way!
At the Race Of Champions, I went 3 rounds, taking out a 160 MPH Camaro Top Sportmans car on the way only to go red by .129. I wasn't red, I saw yellow,to get that kind of red, you would let go of the button before you saw anything. But Pacific Raceways has this thing about racing into the sun at 5PM, this caused a glare on my wheel, which caused a glintch with the lights. The NHRA crew was nice to spend 20 min. figuring it out, but said
" Well can't say it did, can't say it didn't " So just call me Kurt Johnson!
My goal was to qualify for the Race Of Champions, we did way more then that, so I am humbled and blessed.
It's at our home track Spokane Co. Raceway next year, so there wil be no loss to a home track advantage.
So if you race at Pacific Raceways, paint your front left wheel black,or shoe polish it along with your coated headers, and as they say in Australia" You'll be right mate"

The little Rambler....Er' Valiant did good by me!

Valiant, Chryslers answer to the Rambler. No offense to those that own Valiants, remember I have one too. It's a personal joke with my friends!
