"...The recall includes 2013-2017 model year Ram 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks with 6.7-liter diesel engines, including 443,000 vehicles in the United States..."
Water pump related, seems they can overheat and cause a fire? Oops....

Yep

WHEW - I just today signed for a 2017 Ram 2500 6.4 Hemi - I came CLOSE to going diesel... issues and hassles I do not need... including days without the truck for a recall.

how exactly can a water pump that's not electrical cause a fire? Is that how bad our engineering is getting these days? We can land a rocket on a floating barge but we make water pumps that burn. Nice!

That explains why I couldn't find any recent recalls on the 1500. I suppose if the pump were to sieze, the drive belt could possibly catch fire. I have seen drive belts on siezed equipment emit an immense volume of smoke before finally snapping. A 250 horse electric motor with 10 "D" width belts looks like a Jungle Jim Lieberman burnout.

Interesting, i haven't gotton that recall yet, mines a 14, there have been alot of recalls on these trucks

Oh okay good to know and watch out for thanks. I think on one visit think they fixed like 6 recalls at once, some simple reprogramming of various things
