Well folks , After 2 years of pill taking and getting no therapy (witch I asked for) I ask my dr, what do I do about this problem I have been dealing with for 2 year and he said I am an Internal Medicine Doctor!! So why the hell didn't he say something years ago, He wasted my time (Life) and money !! my left foot and leg has kept me away from enjoying and working (ok fishing too) and he had no intensions of getting me fixed and just kept feeding me pain pills and seeing me, He did indeed refer me to a doctor for tests and he denies doing it !!(yes I went and got all my paper work from this neurologist) as proof my dr referred me.
Ok back to my dr. I have hobbled in to his office and waited for him to enter the room and I ask him Doc,what can we do about my foot and hip, he said this, Mike what happened !! he aches like he did not know anything about it ! what the heck! I have been took by this dr... He took 2 years of my life away from me and I am not buying that he is forgetful :banghead::banghead: That is no excuse, he is and has taken advantage of my ignorance that I did not know what an Internal Med Doctor is.. Pill salesman period is my take on this, and leading me on to keep me as a patient and not doing me any good.. I will be turning him in to the madacare board of health, and this was my fathers dr, he died having a hard attack under his care ... yes I am going to put an end to this .
I walked in to my exam room yesterday and told the nurse that I am not going to go threw a third year with out doing something about this, I need therapy or anything that will help my left leg and foot heal!! Hell I think a boot of some kind I could wear when I walk so it will hopefully heal or even prescribe me a set of crutches :banghead:.. well she walked out with her note pad and 20 minutes later my doctor walks in and I have my left shoe and sock off, he said how did this happen, I said Dr. you know I have been trying to get my foot back for well over a year and a half :banghead: what do you mean what happened, I walk on it and this has been a problem for near 2 years :angry2:
Then I told him the neurologist you sent me to did say all my nerves was good and before I could get another word out he said No Mike I did not refer you to any dr and said he is a Internal Medicine Doctor.. so he stands up and did not give me an exam (lungs and things like breathing) like he normally does.
Know this #$%^& doctor tells me to find a primary care dr. :banghead:

Well this doctor has problems heading his way, O I was so P.O. and Treva (my wife) said he must have been in trouble before and panic on me.

I really don't like putting a Rant up but this took the cake, I have a new doctor found and will see him Thursday, but I am not dun with this :-k, he will be hearing from me and he very well knows I know where to sen my compliant . SSOAB!!!!!!!!! he needs to retire.

Rant over , but my job is just getting started :protest:

Go get him Mike. And good luck with the new new sawbones.

Sawbones :-D Thank you Sid, Having better Insurance now helped me get a new doctor, I have been doing self help stuff in the past but I can only do so much, lost 14 lbs and kept it off for a 1 1/2 years and eating raw veggies and I have not touched a soda pops, doing toe up just in case it is a circulation problem and not taking my pain meds as much as prescribed, Blue agava works wonders after breakfast  just a 2 0z shot and I am good to go.. Have a dandy day my Canadian big brother :glasses7:

Sorry to hear about this Mike.

Not all doctors are idiots like this one. You have to look into their background.

My father-out-law is a doctor and specializes in your favorite... Internal medicine and cardiology. He was also trained in chiripractic and has given me back and neck adjustments once in a while. He is a DO, not a MD. A MD has 8 years of school, where a DO has 10 years of school before starting their residency and then practice.

I would recommend seeking out a doctor with a DO versus a MD as they have more training.

You may also want to search the internet for doctors that specialize in leg and hip problems near you. It's a shame that now a days you have to stay "in network" for your healthcare and not given the freedom to seek out specialists on your own. Hopefully you can find one with your new doctor that is in network.

There are some bad doctors out there also. My father-out-law saved the doctors from killing his wife twice while she was getting back surgery and going through chemo. He was watching over everything they did, and caught them making mistakes.

Good for you on seeking out a different doctor. If this one doesn't make you happy, keep going until you find a good one.

Good luck.

I believe in chiripractic care, I kept seeing a good one for 20 years and he kept me out of the OR room, I did indeed (well Treva did) find a DO doctor and came highly referd (how ever you spell it :-D) for my bone and Arthur problems, I should go back and see my chiripractor, but will wait and see my knew doctor fist. Thank you krazykuda 8)

It is just too easy to feed you pills...I finally took myself off that treadmill just over 2 years ago and my body is still trying to recover...it is absolutely how strong of meds your body will tolerate.

Good to hear you are moving forward again.

Mike, my doc is a DO also. I kind of stumbled on her by accident, but it's been the best accident ever. She takes a huge amount of time with me when I have an office visit. That's the difference between the MD and the DO.
When she say's she's going to do something, she does it.
Regardless, good luck, hope it gets better for you and hope to see you at Indy!

Yes, I like chiropractors also. I was rear ended by a drunk 18 year old back in '88 doing over 90 MPH on the highway and had very bad back pain. My dad found a local chiropractor here that specialized in football and sports injuries.

(He patented the "soft cleats" that replaced the old spikes for sports shoes. He said that the old spikes planted the feet too firmly resulting in torquing the knees etc. He said it would be safer to let their feet come out from under them to prevent injury. He sold the patent to a shoe manufacturer. Now all the sports shoes are like that. He also had a patent for an improved helmet, but couldn't get anyone interested in it because of "legal issues". If they bought the new helmet patent and made it, it would open up the manufacturers for lawsuits for the old version not being "good enough" - when it was the best they had at the time. Why do legal issues prevent improvements? You would think we should strive for constant improvement...)

Anyhow, that chiropractor helped me alot.

Thank you grassy, he tried putting me on some other drug that I recognized and said no to, and that I will tolerate life with what he has me on know, he wanted me to start using a oxycotten drug and I have seen what that stuff does, no thanks, I want to keep being me memike :glasses7:

This is where the internet can be your best friends. There are sites around to rate doctors so this can be an asset to you both ways. http://www.ratemds.com/ and http://www.healthgrades.com/ are a couple of the sites. When I find a doctor that I am interested in, I Google his name also. You might be amazed what shows up in a Google search.
Yep  I did and my wife said that new laws has been put in place in the last year and some GP and Int. med doctors had to change and even go back to school or work in a hospital setting. My dr. was a GP at one time and know I see it has changed to Internal Med doctor on his site on the internet :glasses7:
Thank you for the sites Oklacarcollecto :-D May the sun shine on everyone today

Been going thru this kinda crap with my doc....have damn near 0 drive, always cold etc. Been asking to go see a Endocrinologist for close to 2 years now...and always hear the same thing....thyroid is in the "normal" range and thanks to injections my testosterone level is on the upper end of "normal" so he will not refer me out to see one......Stopped in the somewhat "local" clinic the other day and picked up the paper work to go there....

I hope your new doctor figures it out for you Mike.
Brother I sure hope so to, Looking forward to enjoying a shot of Tequila with you one day so stay tuff and talk to you soon 8)

Wow! another doc that will not refer some one :banghead: I hope things work out for you ink, some times I think once they got us in there system they don't want us any where ells it seems.

Good luck to you, Mike.
I sure hope this one will do you some good.
It really sucks to be in pain and discomfort and to top it all off, misdiagnosed or just have some pain pills shoved at you and be told to ''deal with it''. Nothing grinds my gears more than that. My doctor retired 2 years ago and my new one is now getting up to speed with me after a kazillion tests.
It sucks to get old!

I agree Dartnut, it does, but it beets the alternative :toothy1:
I have been with this dr for 4 years, and JMO needs to retire, he has been in his own practice for 31 years and I can't believe he is staying updated :banghead:
Well as they say Dartnut, another day another way bro :glasses7:

Thanks Mike. Will not be the first time I left this Doctor behind. Found a doc that we really liked but the company that she worked for was damn near impossible to deal with. Ended up back with this guy. Ended up seeing a different doc in his practice only to have him leave. I do have to say he is treating me better than he has but I am still not to thrilled with him. Sad part is, for the most part, what ails me can not be fixed....just throw pills at me and send me down the road. But what I want the referral for may help with damn near everything that ails me. Ernie is going to call the new clinic sometime in the next few days. Hate looking for a new doc, I almost feel like a criminal answering all there questions.

Prayers sent Mike to get better from this soon.

I had the same thing happen where I had seen the Dr. several times then suddenly she didn't know what I was coming to see her about! And it was something very serious. Others I know have had this happen to them too. I was boiling mad, I sent her a letter to tell her she was fired and why, and that I was making a formal complaint to my insurance carrier.

A letter may be the best thing I can do, I really don't want to burn any bridges so to speak, but when I see folks in his office they are all old folks and I am sure he is just filling there meds.. and I seen on the news this morning the meds he has been filling for me is getting some bad reviews :banghead:

Hoping your new doctor is good and you get some good treatment that will help you.
Thank you Karl, Treva is taking the after noon off to go with me to see my new doctor, all I can do is hope he sends me to therapy and get me back on my feet and take me off these meds. :color:

Here's hoping you get some satisfaction Mike.
If this doc won't do it, keep looking! It is important that they respect your wishes - especially when you say you do not want a simple drug precription.

X2......and I hope your old pill pusher doc gets what he has comming! Sorry to hear this Mike but it will get better starting now. Hope you feel better and I will say some prayers as well.

Thank you Keith :coffee2:, The pill pusher will indeed be turned in to med-a-care by yours truly and a letter of complaint after I see my new doctor so I can be therow (how ever you spell it).. My this be a day that I will return to my old bullshitting self and get back to being happy and creative  looking forward to my 3 pm visit

Had a similar experience went to a specialist for my elbow paid the co-pay then was told by the Dr "I don't do elbows" !!!! what an idiot.

Keep us updated buddy.
I sure will Sid, you have a safe and fun day :glasses7:
